Jeez, they're going to have to sell a lot of tickets to keep the shareholders happy.

Studios can get nearly 2 Thor: Ragnarok's for the price of one Justice League.

It's about $50 million more than The Avengers, there's a bit of inflation involved as well.
Though at least there the first movie was a huge success. This is a follow up to Batman vs Superman which was actually profitable but not hugely so.

That's the thing tho, it should have been a huge profit because it had three the of most popular superheroes ever for the first time on the big screen. Now we're bringing in the Flash and Aquaman, who by any margin, (especially regardless how previous Aquaman interpretations have been silly) are still more known in pop culture more than any of the Avengers. It has to break a billion in order to actually really be called a success.

Knowing DC fans, it will probably make that much as long as it is entertaining enough to please general audiences. But I think if I was a WB investor, I'd expect to be making truck loads of money from this franchise by now.

Should they really be spending so much when the DCEU hasn't exactly been hugely profitable?

But then again, I think they were forced into a lot of expensive reshoots after seeing the mess Hack Snyder left them with. If they hadn't gone ahead with those, they were probably looking at the death of the franchise.

Suicide Squad made over $150 million in profit. Even Civil War for all the money it made in comparison to Suicide Squad only made a little over $190 million profit. So of course they can spend the money.

This should be an event as anticipated as the first Avengers. Hell, we shouldn't have gotten The Avengers before we got the Justice League. This is like having the Rolling Stones hit it big before The Beatles.

Suicide Squad and Batman vs Superman were ranked 10th and 13th and Civil War and Doctor Strange were ranked 8th and 11th. Wonder Woman is likely more profitable than Civil War even. They've all made all been successful financially. They have nothing to be concerned about.

That's concerning. It wouldn't hurt them to dial it back a bit until the majority of the DCEU is as well-liked as the MCU.

Without using my fingers and toes, I'm fairly certain that's more than 90k in front of $873 million.

The reception of Batman vs Superman didn't hurt Suicide Squad and that movies reception didn't hurt Wonder Woman either. They had to do all reshoots so they ideally wouldn't have wanted to spend this much money but it couldn't be helped I suppose. It's unlikely to lose them too much money at the worst.

Suicide Squad had no competition, and Wonder Woman benefited from being the first superheroine film to get the basics right. Yeah, the fact that they had to do all those reshoots means things aren't as rosy for the DCEU as you claim.

Who cares if it had no competition, that's completely irrelevant to the fact it was profitable and made money. They've all had big budgets, they've all been profitable, Wonder Woman likely being more profitable than even Civil War so they don't have to play anything safe. As long as they don't lose money then it's not an issue.

Justice League will. I bring this up because there is a chance JL might not make enough bank. I'm not seeing a lot of real excitement for this film. I'm really not.

Justice League might benefit off of Wonder Woman's success. It might offset some of the ill will people had with Batman vs Superman. I'm not seeing as much hype for Justice League either especially when compared to Batman vs Superman but it'll still make a lot of money.
