Discussion is welcomed as well. Polls usually got lost due to lack of posts.

I like it a lot. It's a smaller story than the rest of the MCU (or maybe the same level as Ant-Man) but it's entertaining.

I wonder if formersamhmd liked it... It is definately "grounded" as he would say. Perhaps even "ashamed of the wondrousness of comics" In fact, that's where I think it fails. It tries to hard to be a serious thriller and only indulges in the character's cartoonishness in the final battle. The two tones clash.

It tries to hard to be a serious thriller and only indulges in the character's cartoonishness in the final battle. The two tones clash. I wouldn't say it fails at all. It's got a really calming sort of presence about it. That scene where he walks home sums it up nicely. It's a great flick.
I know it's the internet, but people are way to eager to be negative about things that are pretty damn good.

I like most of the Banner scenes, and about half of the Hulk scenes. But that final battle feels so out of place to me.

It tries to hard to be a serious thriller and only indulges in the character's cartoonishness in the final battle. The two tones clash. It was enjoyable enough. Though it has it's comical moments all throughout like how Banner is only found because of Stan Lee drinking the radioactive soda and "Don't make me hungry". I think they should've followed up with Leader, though I understand it's because of the problems with Universal. Hulk is inherently a problematic character on his own, since you need Banner...but more time with Banner means less time with Hulk and that pisses audiences off.

If it was "grounded" then the Hulk wouldn't be a green giant, he'd just be some violent split personality of Banners' who is otherwise human.

Double standard. No comic book movie is that grounded. You call the X Men movies grounded and yet the characters still have powers.

Double standard. No comic book movie is that grounded. Batman. ANY Batman. They keep pretending their world is just like ours except for powers and ignore the full on implications of mutants like there being countries that DON'T hate mutants and we see stuff like them using their powers at the regular jobs in favor of a 1-D take on prejudice. Incredible Hulk doesn't try to make us think it's "the real world" at all and doesn't ignore the full-on implications of the Hulk (how Gamma Radiation can do more than just make Banner into the Hulk).

Double standard. You're ashamed of comics. I'm irritated by "grounded" movies that are clearly ashamed of the source material, like the FoX-Men movies. Incredible Hulk wasn't "grounded" otherwise they'd never have bothered having Bruce start to succeed in his quest to at least control the Hulk.
