However, the story concerns a fox that tries to eat grapes from a vine but cannot reach them. Rather than admit defeat, he states they are undesirable. David Lynch and Stanley Kubrick show otherwise, that maybe the grapes really aren't that good. Seeing how clear successes do well without them.

Marvel knows what kind of movies they want to make, and no, they're not at all Oscar-worthy, which is fine, because unlike DC, they don't need awards to validate themselves. 17 movies and nearly 10years later, they're still going strong. When you guys continue to return and cling to your makeup Oscar and Ledger's Oscar to try and make a statement against the MCU, it shows you have no argument for the DCEU, which just took another blow with Justice League. MCU and it's fans strongly remind me of Aesop's (he's not a superhero) fable about the fox and the Grapes; it's not a story MCU would tell, nor MCU fans would understand. However, the story concerns a fox that tries to eat grapes from a vine but cannot reach them. Rather than admit defeat, he states they are undesirable.
Btw the grapes and vines are now called Fox Grapes (Vitis labrusca) . I imagine in a few decades the Oscars might be called MCU Grapes... I got a better story for you, you'll love it because you and DC fans can really relate to it. I played soccer in elementary school and at the end of the season when we won our first season (this was before the Liberal agenda took over and every team was awarded for "participating"), every player on our team got a small medal. 12-14 years later, am I still waving that medal around now? Nope. Because it's pointless and I moved on. Why cling to one achievement when you can have more. DC won Best Make Up for Suicide Squad. Great. But that was pretty much a year ago now, but even then, a terrible movie I never even seen any DC fan try to defend. You brag about an award but don't defend the movie because you know it's shitty. If that's the case, then the Best Make-Up award is worthless. You guys won Best Supporting Actor for The Dark Knight. Great. But that was 9 years ago. If you're still clinging to that, it's admitting you can't come up with a proper argument for any of the DCEU movies which have been subpar (saved for Wonder Woman) and hit with critical reviews. Instead of confronting that, you immediately jump back to the Oscar's argument and the response is equivalent to a petulant child complaining that, "Oh yeah? Well, you're stupid and we won an Oscar. Haha"Meanwhile, the MCU response is that they don't care. Again, they don't need awards to validate themselves. They just keep moving forward after every new movie. Keep in mind as well, Dr. Strange was nominated for an Oscar for Best Special Effects. Did they win? Nope. Did they care? Nope. Let me know if you're having trouble comprehending what I said

I understand that you hope MCU gets a consolation price and you suffer from acute Oscar envy. David Lynch doesn't and Stanley Kubrick didn't. So if this means MCU is up there too, good for them. Plus the MCU doesn't need to distract people with Music, so that's nothing really worth talking about. They have two tv shows that got bad reviews? Well Iron Fist was always going to be disliked for political reasons, same with Inhumans. DC took something like 40 years to make a female CBM, wow what an achievement. Of course they'd never have bothered if not for the MCU paving the way for them. Black Leads don't mean much if the movie stinks. Black Panther will show how it's done. The DCEU movies cost more to make and market and featured their A-Listers while MCU's costs were lower, marketing was lower and they were using lesser known characters. So relatively speaking MCU still did better. Grow a thicker skin man.

Honestly, the MCU doesn't need any Oscars, they have all the success they need right now and they don't need a stamp of approval from the Academy Awards to make them look good. Oscars also mean nothing unless somebody's actually seen your movie and in a lot of cases the Academy is fairly biased when they nominate a film and choose its winners. In my lifetime I've witnessed many films that undeservedly lost and won, or weren't even considered at all despite being such solid works. And you know what? Sometimes the Academy regrets their decision making. They didn't nominate Dragonheart for its musical score in 1997, but on more than one occasion they've used the theme for their program. And might I say that Tristan's immaturity levels are ridiculously high in this thread, I find it ironic how they fancy themselves to be sooooo mature and sophisticated overall and especially with their entertainment preferences but they read like a middle school bully who just discovered the wonderful world of film via IMDb prime and constantly visits the old film general board. Hell, they even lump Michael Bay next to Uwe Boll and Ed Wood like somebody in that age bracket would, I recognize Bay isn't the best the world has to offer but he's leagues better than those two and when motivated right can direct a helluva picture - see 13 Hours and The Rock, and put money to good use - Black Sails was and is one of the most underrated shows out there. Plus, anytime GOTG Vol. 2 is brought up he always says "Racoon turds", wtf? I dunno but who the heck can be so fixated on that little joke when its barely a second in the whole film?

Because they're not pretentious enough to think that just because they've made a hit movie they must campaign for Best Picture. Sorry, Mr. President but WW was just not that good! I don't care about WW, I didn't even see it. I just know MCU has never even come close to winning an Oscar! Do you mean except for the various times they have been nominated for them? which has been for about 6 films as of right now.

You're just proving my point. Clearly you guys are obsesses with Wonder Woman getting an Oscar nomination so you can validate your franchise without actually properly making an argument for why it's good even though reviews have literally gutted the franchise (save for Wonder Woman). Everything you said, yeah, it's true, but also worthless if they can't even make a good film. And who cares about the amount of money made? If you want to be like the Transformers series where all you guys care is how much money the franchise makes, over actually making a decent film...--key word, "decent"... then great. But that'll only get you so far as Transformers 5 opening fell short from the last two. Why? Because people wised up and realize it's basically the same shit they got the last couple movies. Eventually people will wise up to the DC franchise as well if they keep producing mediocre to shitty films. But hey, don't let me take that Oscar for Best Make Up away from you. Wouldn't want to hurt your feelings now would we. After all, in this day and age every film deserves an award. Can't leave anyone out regardless of how bad they are, right?

You MCU fanboys love to troll and bully via threads, but the moment somebody uses your vitriol as remedy against you, you start crying like whiny manbabies. I'm just doing what's necessary, like Marty's dad did with Biff in BttF 1. It hurts me more than you, but it's for your own good.
And Michael Bay is A-OK if it helps you sleep at night. I can see that MCU fans take a liking to that. Just not my cup of lowbrow tea
Not true, I have ample of others dialogue for you. Really no need for a dance off, bitch:

Could it not be that MCU is just mediocre movies that follow an uninspired boiler plate formula and are the artistic equivalent of tasty, but fatty and forettable junk food for the dumb masses? That's the common sense assumtion with most people at least.
We are talking comic book super hero movies, kiddies. Let's get some perspective here. Marvel strikes the right balance between levity and gravity. It seems like such a simple formula, but DC just can't get the knack of it. Marvel movies are intended to be crowd pleasers. They excel at what they do. They are the best tasting junk food out there. If DC fans want to declare Suicide Squad the epitome of DCEU movies because it won a make-up Oscar, let them. It's a pretty good representation of everything that is wrong with the DCEU.

Btw those Fox Grapes do not only bear analogy for Oscars, MCU and MCU fanboys greatly desire the Fox Grapes as a franchise too. We can be assured they will not get them, as they so desperately try to belittle and bully them.

well that can only be judged when you actually tase them. No, if clear masters like those two didn't get them then it's proof enough they aren't necessary. Unless you think Kubrick and Lynch aren't (or in Kubrick's case, weren't) good filmmakers and storytellers.

Is sound. If David Lynch and Kubrick didn't/don't need Oscars to be seen as the Masters they are then Oscars aren't some pinnacle of achievement. They're just fancy window dressing.
Unless of course, you'd like to explain why they don't have Oscars (or more than VFX Oscars) and yet are still seen as Masters of their Craft.
