I honestly thought this would be the first good DCEU movie, but I was wrong. I'll give them this, this was better than Batman v. Superman, but it's still not a good film. The good in this movie is the performances from Margot Robbie, Will Smith, and Viola Davis were good, and the makeup was pretty good. Now the story in this film is just a big mess, and the reshoots killed this movie. We don't see Jared Leto enough, but while he was onscreen, it was just an embarrassing performances. There's very little action in this action movie, and some of it shot terribly, and the editing is some of the worst and obnoxious. The soundtrack, while some good songs were all over the place, and couldn't keep a tone unlike the soundtrack from Guardians of the Galaxy. Don't get me started with the villain, and the climax looked like it came out of Gods of Egypt.
I'm also giving this movie a 5/10.

I went 6 but only because I gave BvS a 5 and I definitely liked it better.
The first half was almost waste of film, but it needed to establish a lot. And as you said, there were things to like, especially Smith, Robbie and Davis. And I came to appreciate Leto's Joker. While not my favorite portrayal it intrigued me enough to want to see more.

2/10. I actually hate it. MoS is good and BvS is watchable but SS is just garbage.

I originally gave it a 5/10, but the romanticizing of the Joker/Harley relationship bothered me the more I thought about it. Actually, everything in this movie is worse the more you think about it (got a demigod witch on the loose? send a girl with a baseball bat), but it was at least enjoyable while watching, which is more than you can say about BvS. The "protagonists" are also likable and well acted, even Jai Cortney. But so much for villains being just an MCU weakness, Jared-Joker and Enchantress are straight up terrible.
4/10.

7/10. Enchantress was a terrible villain and the third act is insane. But I had fun.

I had no interest in seeing a movie about "The Suicide Squad" characters... So, I reluctantly watched the movie, only because it was part of the DCEU...
The movie itself, had... great special effects... great make up... Great action... The soundtrack was good too... and I did think the story was interesting...
I'll even agree that the acting was good... But...
Even, after, I saw the movie, I wished all the Characters had been killed, and I don't want to ever see "The Suicide Squad" characters again...
To be honest, I don't understand why anyone would want to make a standalone movie, just about those characters...
And It's really hard for me to believe, that a "Suicide Squad" sequel is in the works.
I'll give it a 4/10 rating for everything, BUT, the uninteresting characters... and that's the most important thing to have in any movie... In my opinion...

You could take almost every character out and not miss them at all in the plot. Joker had nothing to do with anything. Even when he steals Harley he's gone and she's right back with the team, so what was the fucking point?
Killer Kroc does absolutely nothing. He just swims at the end to get a bomb? That was the payoff? The fuck?
Boomerang does absolutely nothing. He uses one throw for surveillance? WTF? That's it? Why was he in the movie just for that?
The zombie bad guys were the most video game random ass bad guys I've ever seen, just holy shit who wrote that.
And what was Enchantress doing? She hated technology? What? Why? What? And she was building a machine,,,,,,,,,,,,, somehow, or something. What? And somehow even though we have no idea what the fuck she's actually doing, it takes exactly as long as it takes the team to get to her to finish it, or what? Seriously it felt like a final fucking fantasy game where no matter if you spend 30 hours or 180 getting to the final boss, that's when his end of the world plan kicks in. It was so so so so amateur.
This movie had to be written by a 10 year old. It was the most amateur thing I've ever seen.

The first half us the problem with JL. There seems to be a pattern. Although my issue with SS was the Joker/Harley was excessive. A far better approach would have been a Batman film featuring Joker as the main villain, or a Joker film. It took away from the movie

4/10. I liked Smith and his scenes were well done, but the movie pretty much sucked. The villain was the worst I can remember from the DCEU and the MCU.

For me, the problem with JL was the very end when the focus was on just Steppenwolf and the Boxes. I didn't feel that he was given enough focus in order to care about or fear him, so once they stopped punching Parademons all of the excitement got sucked out. Ultimately, I think it's the mandated run time that made everything wrap up too quickly. Both with the Mother Boxes and with the decision to revive Superman, though most of it hit at the end.

My standard for rating a movie is does it hold my attention? Am I wrapped up in what's happening on the screen? Do I want to see it again? It I find myself thinking about the outside world, there's a storytelling problem. The writer isn't telling an engrossing tale. I was editing JL. As I watched it, I was looking at stuff "that is unnecessary". It wasn't engaging my attention Part of this is because they are short cutting, skipping individual tales. We sort of know Flash from tv & Boomerang, but waiting until after Aquaman or doing something with Cyborg might have helped. Introducing Supes in his origin movie, killing him in the sequel only to resurrect him again in the next movie? Whatever the point?

one of the worst comic book movies of all time. i could re-watch Batman & Robin and Fant4stic in a loop before watching this trash again. Having Will Smith in it adds to my displeasure of watching it. And i really like BVS and to some extent MOS
