Russos directed Civil War and Winter Soldier (and now Infinity War) and Whedon directed both of the Avengers. Which do you prefer? For me it's team Russo.

Russo Brothers. I love the Avengers movies but didn't like Serenity at all.

I love both Avengers films, the first is absolutely legendary, and Whedon is awesome, but Winter Soldier and Civil War are just soooooooooooooooo good. I think the Russos earned filming Infinity War, I trust them, and yes. They win. |

Joss' tonal sensibilities and comedic timing are what lured the masses to the Marvel method - the goodwill he engendered is the gift that keeps on giving. Personal shortcomings aside, Marvel fans owe him a debt of gratitude.
That said, the Russo brothers style was the next logical step in the MCU's evolution. They're my top picks to take over if Feige vacates the big chair. They'll give us white-knuckled action, edge-of-your-seat thrills, and convincing human drama.
The DCEU could take a lesson from this approach instead of trying to ape Marvel's lighthearted, comedic side. Thier early entries aimed high, but they ended up being more about archetypes and high-minded ideas rather than the bold adventure stories Marvel puts out.
Man of Steel is a notable exception which packs a visceral punch for the first three acts and then descends into deeply fatiguing, video-game violence and destruction porn in a wholly unnecessary fourth act.

Whedon
Pros- Excellent emphasis on characters. Develops great dynamics between multiple characters. Can deliver endearing humor/dialogue.
Cons- Uses ugly orange/teal color grading in all interior scenes. Often writes multiple characters with the same voice, especially with quips. Uses boxy TV style cinematography.
Russos
Pros- Humor is more organic, less quippy. Know how to do real drama. Great mix of serious story and comic book fun. Much better color timing.
Cons- They like to use handheld cams for action which I fucking hate! Nothing too visually impressive in their movies. Some iconic shots, but the cinematography leaves a lot to be desired.
Russos win.
