A guy is a spy, and was forbidden to have a wife and children. He returns home, only to find his wife and child dead in the backyard.
I can't remember, and it is bugging me.

I'm thinking that it could be a Daniel Craig film. Did any of his Bond films include this?

Can you describe an character or actor? Are you asking what actor/actress in what movie(s) I feel did a good job?

Need more info. Can you visualize any of it? Was it set in a city, farmland, etc? Just try to piece together what you can from the scenes you remember and give a more visual description.

I think his family was in Belgium. It was kept a secret from the spy organization, but they found out and killed his wife and kid. I remember him on a payphone, I think, which is how he found out they knew. He sped home and ran into his house. The back door was aligned with the front door, and his wife and kid were dead on the grass. That's all I can remember ATM.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo? Munich? Layer Cake? Those are some recent non James Bond crime/espionage roles that Daniel Craig did in the last 12 years.

The only DC movies I've seen recently have been his Bond films and TGWTDT (which I saw a few years ago). He wasn't a spy in the latter, and I doubt there would have been a scene like that, since it didn't involve spies.

lol Sbutter Island. I meant Shutter Island. Can you remember anything else about it? Which regime made him do that? Is it Soviet Russia? Or East Germany? I assume he was a foreign spy in Belgium, but which other country made him do that?

Yes. I couldn't remember the name when I posted that. A very good film, I've seen it twice. Have you seen it?
