It shouldn't be, in general I let people say whatever they want.
My involvement usually involves putting arguments to an end, nipping arguments in the bud early, deleting insults and arguments and a few edits here in there like retitling baity thread titles and making sure DC topics stick to the DC board and Marvel topics stick to the Marvel board.
There's certain users here who cause most of the trouble (and you all know who they are) and a less lenient mod would have just had them outright gone ages ago.

scababthis is obviously from the locked thread, anyway this is all a bit ridiculous isnt it? threads with the intention of provoking people? What does that look like exactly? Very arbitrary rules in my opinion. What is this? A nanny board? The onus is always on you, the replier to check how you respond to certain posts. That is your responsibility. As for the box office thread, fair enough but why does this need to be done? As long as it's dc movie/dc related and under the dc board, I dont see what the problem is... Im getting worried...

He was making several topics over and over (which others had created) just with the intention of bashing the movie to get a rise out of people. Constant topics that were essentially
"Look how bad Justice League is doing in comparison to this MCU movie, doesn't that mean people hate DCEU everyone?"
I was asked by multiple people via PM to make a single stickied thread to group up discusson which I did and told him to keep discussion to that thread.
He then went off on a rant and didn't intend to stop even after I politely asked him not to.

Well I don’t think Scabab is doing too badly, but my philosophy is that mods should erase threats, hate speech and doxing only. I like the banter. I just hope that those who complained about Arch were genuine and not just seeking to ban him, which if they did I’d like to know, because then I could see the funny side.

I think weird racist is by far the person who is always demanding people be banned. Arf arf himself has done so as well. If I followed the posts correctly, arf arf himself said he went to the ADMIN to complain about the mod here being mean to him and soon after he was booted. Considering arf's state of mind at that point, he might have went postal on the admin. Sadly we may never know but I bet it was funny. |

Before moderation, Arf Arf was posting dozens of threads per day on the DCEU board saying how great MCU was but the threads had nothing to do with DC. Also, about 50% of posts by MCU fans called me a "fuckin' moron" or a "piece of shit".
Now, Arf Arf's MCU threads on the DCEU board are moved to the MCU board and the personal attacks by MCU fans have gone down. Occasionally, some still slip through, but overall I think scabab has done a good job and (contrary to the whining and complaining by weirdraptor) has been fair. |
