....says Alan Shearer
I agree, most people probably do. They are in danger of becoming a nearly team, akin to golf's "best player never to win a major" millstone (Colin Montgomerie). They are well capable of beating Real Madrid but then follow that with a pretty ordinary performance against Arsenal. Newcastle are the other team that haven't managed to get over the winning line for nearly 60 years and TBH good as Spurs are, I can't see them winning anything soon.

The love they're getting does seem a little over the top.
Between the possibility of them going on to win things and them breaking apart with all their best players being sold and Poch going off to Barcelona, the latter option seems significantly more likely to me.

I am finding myself railing against Tottenham a bit lately and I used to like them, I think that is just a reaction to all the bollocks I've been hearing about them lately, it has been completely out of proportion. I got a few Tottenham supporting mates, and I used to respect their self-deprecation and eternal pessimism, it was funny, it was charming, but even they're turning delusional. You wave a tiny a bit of success in front of them (if you could even call it success), and they all start losing their minds.
I even heard Gary Neville at it a couple of weeks ago, saying they are the best team to watch in the country.
Okay, I can't take anything away from the two Real Madrid games this season, they were good to watch, but against Arsenal they were terrible, same against Palace. ditto against Swansea, opening day game against Newcastle was a snoozefest, ditto against Man United, even their 3-2 win against West Ham was not a great game to watch despite the scoreline, and okay they played quite well against Chelsea, that was a good game to watch but they still lost. I've seen much better football from many other teams over the years in the PL.
Take it from me, they aren't going to win anything this year.

If Spurs don't win the League or CL this season (and they probably won't) then I think that might be their chance over, every year their "golden team" fails to win something like 2015/16, 2016/17 and probably 2017/18 increases the pressure massively and they start to seen as bottlers, they need something - even an FA Cup or League Cup or this team has to been viewed as a failure.
Not saying it's fair but that's my opinion.
