...of gangster. Yesterday on Youtube I shared an image from the set of Scorsese’s The Irishman showing Robert De Niro as Frank Sheeran gun down a victim outside of what looks like a diner of some sorts. Here are the images (please DON'T CLICK yet): www.youtube.com/watch?v=36-CZ5sEDk4The reason why I've asked not to click yet is because I had a closer look at the images and it looks like this is a moderate spoiler in the film. If you know who is playing who and recognize the actor being shot then you know that this is the death scene of a certain minor supporting character. I reference this in the video so only click if you are willing to see a minor spoiler (it's well known that the person was killed anyway so I'm not sure how much of a spoiler this is considered.) SPOILERS BELOW SPOILERS BELOW SPOILERS BELOW SPOILERS BELOW It looks like the person being gunned down is none other than Actor Bobby Cannavale, of Boadwalk Empire and Vinyl fame. I’m currently running a series on whose playing who in this mob flick and haven’t reached Cannavale yet but he is in the movie, playing the infamous mobster “Crazy” Jo Gallo. Gallo started a war in the Colombo crime family, and was eventually murdered by being shot in a diner when sitting with his family. He staggered out through the front door and onto the streets, attempting to draw fire away from his wife, sister and daughter. He collapsed and eventually died in the hospital. He is thought to have been rubbed out by the Colombo crime family but Frank Sheeran, the subject of this movie, offers a different account by saying he was the one who killed Gallo. Now that’s Robert De Niro, and this is pretty clearly Cannavale, they’re outside a diner where the latter is getting gunned down. I don’t think it’s crazy to suggest what we’re seeing here is Joe Gallo’s death scene.
