What is an efficient and safe web site for downloading YouTube videos? I ask on this board because the vast majority of my downloads will be music. Thanks mucho in advance.

If you don't care much about quality, there are plenty of converters online: www.google.com/search?q=youtube+to+mp3If you do care about quality, I suggest not even bothering with getting music from YouTube because YouTube compresses all audio down to (I believe) 128 kpbs, or maybe 192 tops.

Thanks for the response. I realize that I could Google the question. I did that once before - several years ago - and got a virus from the one I selected. That is why I asked here for recommendations and specified "safe." I understand what you are saying about YouTube quality. I can overlook that to a certain extent. I used to be very involved in the "Hi Fi" scene back in the 1980s and '90s but haven't been for many years. I don't (at the moment) own the proper equipment for real quality music reproduction. So, YouTube will do for now. Thanks again.

With the advent of direct-to-consumer online sales you can get "proper equipment for real quality music reproduction" for not much. I can't imagine any music lover just making due with YouTube quality downloads.
