They dont belong in a comedic universe which makes serious issues light hearted - simple as that. Obviously you haven't seen The Punisher yet, its so intense and gritty it makes "24" look like "G.I. Joe: An American Hero". If you smiled and chuckled at something even once, its a comedy according to these people.

Meh. I'm fine either way. Although I do want Disney to get it just because of the epic meltdown we'll get!

Baseless statement. When has Fox ever shifted THAT far away from the source material. The only thing that comes close is Rogue.[/quote] Because Fox is ashamed of real comic booky stuff like that. It's taken them over 15 years to finally start to get with the program. Just like the Warriors 3 getting wasted was a serious scene but instead of appreciating it all people do is complain. X-Fans hate those movies in their entirety too. Vanessa herself even says he's not that ugly at the end. That's the point. He's WANTED it for so long that once he gets it...it turns out he really has little to no idea how to be the kind of King the Asgardians need. Because wanting is different from having. All he ends up doing is setting Asgard's destruction in motion. Considering how pissed everyone got that they killed Jean and Xavier back then, I doubt it. We'll see.

Don't hyperbole it, and those are the R-rated Netflix TV shows- a freedom of expression that will soon enough be entirely gone when the ENTIRE MCU including the shows get Disney-fied. Goodby intense grittiness, hello famously huge raccoon turds. I don't see how you can pretend not to get sensitive nipples about that.

Goodby intense grittiness, hello famously huge raccoon turds. I don't see how you can pretend not to get sensitive nipples about that. Just expressing my feelings, I was a huge fan of "24" when it was on the air and I must say that "The Punisher" really does make it look like an 80's Saturday morning cartoon in comparison - I mean as much I'm a fan of it I must admit "24" had to make the stakes as high as possible ( results varied on believability and whether or not they felt organic or forced) to reach its 24 episode limit and occasionally made the action so preposterous for Jack and CTU to overpower the bad guys. "The Punisher" season one is more grounded, more personal, and despite the stakes not being stupid crazy high the grit, edge, and atmosphere make it a much more visceral viewing experience that is more filled in grey than just black and white. Netflix does not really make the shows, Marvel's television division does and Netflix only assists in some of the budget and puts it on their streaming service to view. They do not have any real say in what they can do content wise or provide any story notes, its basically all "makes us a show, and we'll put it up on our service." When the times comes, all Netflix original Marvel shows will head over to Disney's own streaming service as they plan for all their original programming. If a character has a product associated with them that is very lucrative and acclaimed then there is no point changing what already works and altering its style and tone. Its a pointless business endeavor to do anything of the sort in a case like that. Secondly, Disney has produced/released programs that are TV-MA and films that are rated R thru their other banners. Do you really think some exec will go like this, "Hmmm, y'know what? I don't care if Deadpool was a huge critical and financial success...LET'S MAKE THE FOLLOW-UP A WATERED DOWN, COTTON CANDY FEST, PG OR WE DON'T RELEASE!"?

How can these MCU fanboys feel so threatened by X-Men fans critiquing their childish crap?? Why? Your movies are the only movies people go to see anymore. Why do you people have to act like such petty a$$holes on here??

What about Fantastic Four and it's characters? Don't worry, at the rate things are going Disney won't just take the rights to all of Marvel's characters back...they'll take EVERYTHING from Fox.

Turning the once good X Men franchise into another teen hero movie.

That's BEFORE Logan. It's clear that Fox has far more balls than Marvel since they're not afraid to shake things up for the good of character and story.

The films that surround it like Logan and DOFP is the real template and Dark Phoenix should follow that.

Logan was a one-shot deal, since it was Jackman's Swan Song. DOFP was just the usual X-Men story, it's just that since the old cast came back for their silly fairytale ending it gave the film a booster. Apocalypse showed that Singer's method no longer holds sway.

WB dont seem to learn their errors but hopefuly Dark Phoenix stays away from MCU blueprint.

No, Singer just tried his usual approach and it no longer works. JL was just rushed and ill-thought out.

I feel like the original cut might have even been somewhere near The Avengers. I like how DC is beginning to make less overly serious movies with JL.
