Don't get me wrong he's a great actor,but to me he's just not Alfred. Hell he doesen't even seem much like a butler,he just acts like a friend to Batman/Bruce Wayne.
I even remembered when he was first announced and I went "huh?".
Sean Pertwee in Gotham is a much better Alfred and they actually give him something to do. All they're giving to Irons is him coming on and saying a few things and maybe control some of Batman's gadgets.
It's freaking Jeremy Irons and not even he's good enough for the movies because they aren't giving him anything to do.

This guy who used to be my friend said he didn't like him because he was "mean". Then again, he liked serial killer Batman so make of that what you will.

I don't like he gets little to do & He knew Supes wasn't the enemy in BvS. Bats should have known

They said this version of Alfred wasn't the Wayne Butler, he was an ex-military guy hired as their bodyguard and became Bruce's guardian after they died. So he's meant to be less servile and more about making sure Bruce survives...which Bruce doesn't make easy. Frankly, I think Bruce and Alfred should clash more often. I'd have liked it if he tried to keep Bruce from going after Superman by sabotaging his weapons in the design stage to keep Bruce working on them. |
