Mystery.
Like legit mystery tho, not the csi cop shows that are a dime a dozen. A solid mystery storyline stretched out through an entire season.

Action/adventure, more so in the cliffhanger serial vein like Relic Hunter or Adventure, Inc or The Lost World. Something different from the routine spy/police procedural fluff.
Historical fantasy. While this is getting more attention, it's still overshadowed by the Y/A crap you'd see on SyFy or The CW.
Steampunk Sci-fi.
Classical mythology like those tacky '90s shows but with the stuff being done today like Game of Thrones or Vikings or Spartacus, it can be taken seriously and look cool.
...These probably aren't done that much anymore because they sound expensive which I can understand. But there's only so many cheap looking cop shows and wannabe 24 cashins I can take.
