sostie I don't know about you but most comic book/super hero movies are not worth re-watching but that's one of the ones that are worth re-watching. so if you want to adjust it's score based on this, then if anything, i would say it's underrated as i am sure there is some super hero movies on IMDb with higher average scores that should be lower than Wonder Woman if you ask me. plus, another reason that makes that better than the typical super hero movie is that you just don't see quality female lead super hero movies and it's pretty safe to say Wonder Woman is the most known female super hero. p.s. for the record... i gave Wonder Woman a 6/10 (a mild Thumbs Up). I have seen it once so far but i expect it to hold up on a re-watch. prior to seeing it i was hoping for a 6-6.5/10 but that did not happen. still, it scored about where i expected it to though as i assumed it was likely not going below a 6/10, but thought it had potential for a 6-6.5/10 if done right. Personally I love comic book movies - grew up with comics and have a huge collection which is still growing, so I love seeing them transferred to screen. But it seemed that Wonder Woman was treated as the second coming in some quarters. A female led super hero film may seem like a big deal to many, but is it really? Reducing the film to sub sub genres it is a big deal, but it certainly isn't the first successful female led Action Film - Alien, Underworld, Resident Evil, Tomb Raider - just a few franchises that have been successful. Like I said, it is a good film (but doesn't stand up to repeated viewings) but not an amazing one. It's interesting that most of the world didn't go crazy over Wonder Woman - it was only the top Comic Book Movie in 5 countries - USA, Australia, Mexico, Colombia and Phillipines I think...it wasn't a major player in most of the ROW.

sostieAssuming that's true and basing the topic on that standard... then it would be pretty easy for someone to claim it's overrated. but... when looking at super hero movies, especially bigger name ones, Wonder Woman's current 7.6/10 average score is not that high. like it's not low for sure but nothing extremely high either. i am curious to see where it ranks in terms of average rating in comparison to other bigger name super hero movies and in this regard i would not expect it to be overrated, at least not much. True, but since it's 'super hero' everyone thinks it's all good because everyone seems to love those movies given the $$$ they do in the theaters for many years now. basically it's the first hugely successful (maybe even just successful) female lead super hero movie which will grab some attention on that alone. Agreed except i expect to like it about the same when i get around to re-watching it as i have only seen it once so far. but then again there is not a single super hero movie i would personally consider amazing. hell, very few movies would qualify as that top level (as in 9/10 or 10/10) for me. even 7's and 8's are not easy to come by for me as like i mentioned before there is only 196 movies i gave a 7/10 or higher out of the 2,150+ total movies i have seen which is only about 9% of all movies i have seen manage to get a 7 or higher from me. or about 1 out of every 10 movies i see.

I don't know if it is considered over-rated, as I am not sure of the hate factor, but I despised Transformers: The Last Knight. Only saw it on a whim, because Wonder Woman was sold out. When I finally saw Wonder Woman, I thought that was over rated too. Wouldn't care to view it again. Logan Lucky was also another film that I think got a bit too much over-praise. What was it's point and what did it want to be? I enjoyed IT, and it was well made and creepy, but it failed to scare me. Nice surprises for me, were: Logan God's Own Country Blade Runner 2049I really liked IT by my least favorite scenes from it are the ones featuring Pennywise

Blade Runner 2049--The ending ruined it for me. Plus, it was too long and kinda depressing.
Spider Man Homecoming--Good, but not great.
Can't think of a third overrated movie right now.

Wonder Woman Wonder Woman Wonder Woman
And I also think Wonder Woman:
Ridiculous premise (created by the gods to protect mankind), the shark jumping fight scenes when the German infantry was stoorming the beach, and a most boring final with villains who were not even "meh".
The entire hype is serving a political agenda about strong women.

Blade Runner 2049.
The original Blade Runner is also overrated. BTW I always wondered what was the deal with that stupid 20 questions test to identify a replicant? Wouldn't they have an easier way than that? Like stamping a serial number on them, or a DNA test, or have their fingerprints on file or anything besides that silly "you're in the desert and you see a turtle...".
Couple that with the endless "enhancing the photo" scene and that movie just drives me away.
Also, could they have been more wrong about what the world would be like in 2019?

Justice League Spider-Man: Homecoming The Mummy
Transformers: The Last Knight The Circle The Mummy? I haven't seen the film, but hell what a bad rap it got. How can it be that overrated with such a bad press and ratings and still grossing over 400m and thus breaking even if not making even some profit? Again: I don't say it is a good movie, but the actual handling by the press and its numbers don't add up to your statement.

I even like it better than Blade Runner. I was never able to watch in in one piece: either slept in (like the last time) or I did something else because it never hooked me up. 2049 was a positive surprise.
