8/10 for me. I haven't seen it in a long while. It might bump up to 9 if it holds up on re-watch, but 8/10 for now.

I remember it fondly for the most part. I haven't seen it in a while so I will say a 7. It has more in common with Jekyll and Hyde than the original film.
Some of Goldblum's performance reminded me of Frederic March's Hyde.

Fascinating concept and much more logical than the 50s version (which is still very entertaining) as it shows the horrifying results of splicing the DNA of a human with a fly and how that would slowly change the person and seeing which parts would be active (or inactive), and why we see he is turning into a giant mess without any real shape or form. Even if she hadn't killed him he couldn't have survived much longer I doubt. It is at times too effective because it is not always an easy film to watch, and disgusting. Goldblum and Davis are both outstanding and there is a real chemistry between them. The film can seem like a tv movie, especially the first half. And I never quite bought the 'jealousy' that led Goldblum to take that transport. I do think this is a film that is ripe for a remake. 8/10

8/10, much closer to 9 than 7. Cronenberg's last great body horror. Like jamesavalon wrote, it does feel a bit routine during the early drama scenes, but the story takes off very well after a while and builds up for one of the most impressive finales in horror cinema, managing to be both touching and terrifying at the same time.

A great horror film with very good performances by both Goldblum and Davis (I think they were a couple at the time).
