deadline.com/2017/12/quentin-tarantino-star-trek-movie-jj-abrams-1202220032/I guess Tarantino pitched Paramount an idea for a Star Trek film that they really liked. They are going to assemble a writers room for Tarantino to help pen the script and if things go according he could end up directing the film. JJ Abrams is supposed to produce it. I'm not the biggest Star Trek fan, but if Tarantino directs the next movie I'll definitely go see it.

I see a three-way standoff between Kirk, a Romulan, and a Klingon.

Well isn't Tarantino going to "retire" after 2-3 more films? I'd figure he'd want to put everything into something else than a franchise film.

I think that may just apply to his original projects that he develops, writes and directs. I'm pretty sure he said he had interested in doing other things like directing franchise films and creating TV series.

Surprising but it doesn't pack the same punch as Scorsese producing a Joker movie.

Surprising but it doesn't pack the same punch as Scorsese producing a Joker movie. With the underperformance of Justice League I still hope that movie gets made. It could potentially be great.

As long as this doesn't count as his 10th movie then I'm all for it!

As long as he doesn't make some bullshit cameo like he did in Django, I'm all for it.

I'm but a casual "Star Trek" fan, but the curiosity of having Tarantino at the helm would coax me into checking it out.
I (seriously) hope Tarantino and Samuel L. Jackson team up for the inevitable Mace Windu origin story.

Not sure this will work...His style doesn't easily lend itself to Sci-Fi, especially Star Trek..But at least we will see Admiral Samuel L. Jackson and a cameo by an annoying alien guy name "Tar En Tino"

As long as he doesn't make some bullshit cameo like he did in Django, I'm all for it. Considering that Star Trek had everyone from Andy Dick to Dwayne Johnson playing one off roles, it wouldn't even be too weird.

Tarantino is usually always throwing around ideas so I'm not sure anything will come from this. But I would certainly welcome it. I've pretty much enjoyed all the new Star Trek films and would welcome a 4th one.

Sounds great. It'll be pretty weird to watch a Tarantino movie without an F bomb every 2 seconds though lol.
I'm curious to see how this plays out (if it happens). I hope he writes a Star Wars spinoff as well.

As long as it doesn't count as his 10th and final movie this sounds awesome. I can't imagine how a Star Trek movie directed by Tarantino would be. I expect it to have a lot of Western influences.

That's certainly an unexpected idea. Curiosity would motivate me to watch it.
