Entry #8 and probably the worse tragedy to befell the MCU. But I want to your guys opinion! 7.5 Far from a tragedy, this is actually a really good film. I think the only tragedy is that anybody considers it a tragedy. A tragedy is Catwoman. The Dark World is a film with a lot of amazing scenes like Friga's entire death sequence, preceded by a wonderful attack on Asgard that I always enjoy Heimdall's role in. The entire sequence of Thor and Loki confronting Malekith is amazing, the escape from Asgard was fantastic, and cutting away to the hammer constantly changing directions during the final battle as Thor teleported around the galaxy was one of the most brilliant touches I've ever seen. Such a cool way to break up the action, and to have it arrive just in time to deliver the final blow was absolutely inspired. Malekith is a total hardass who views the universe as an invasive species and therefore doesn't care about destroying it any more that you would care about destroying an ant mound. I love his portrayal, I love that he is focused on only this one goal. And using the Aether as a liquid, only to reveal that it is an Infinity Stone, might be the most interesting thing they've done with the gems. I honestly would have preferred they minimize the Earth as a location, and gone almost full cosmic with it, but overall I've changed my mind, I'm giving this a solid 8.

The weak villain and too much Darcy and her assistent ruin it. Seeing Selvigs buttcheeks twice doesnt help the film either. That being said, the story of Thor and Loki is amazing. It deepens their relationship in a lot of ways. Its enough to save the movie but it shortcomings hurt it too much to go beyond 6/10

What is weak about him? I quite enjoy Malekith, so I've never understood this.

But to me he doesnt do anything on the emotional level. He is kinda bland to me. #teamcolden

I mean I don't sympathize with him, so I'll agree on that level, but I do think it's perfectly fine to have a villain that is just an unyielding force of nature, and I very much enjoy his presence and portrayal. He's menacing, and I love it.

5/10. Apparently the redheaded stepchild of the MCU, but I had fun with it, outside of the scenes with the humans. The only problem is I remmeber almost none of it.

Oh boy! This fucking film. 3.5/10 which is generous. Putting the GOD AWFUL side characters aside (Kat Dennings tits does not excuse her annoying, unfunny character) This film was complete filler. In fact what was it purpose? Apparently to introduce a infinity stone and to keep Thor on earth for avengers 2.
The Dark Elves were interesting, especially their technology and weapons ( Black Hole grenade FTW! ) but they were lead by a guy who sounded like he didn't even want to be on set. The final fight was nothing but lackluster.
Fuck this movie.

I know it's your opinion, so I'm not trying to talk you out of it, but you do realize that's well below the average score for it right? Is there some way to massage some parts out for you so you can have a little better time with it? I'd be glad to talk you through it. In all seriousness.

Tell you what. Remove Darcy and her assistant, Recast Two-face or whatever his name is and replace the end fight with a Lord of the Rings style fight with armies of Dark Elves and Asgardians. Maybe, maybe I'll give the film a 7.
