What becomes the top priority to the current phase 4 plan?
We know there is a plan, and that plan is probably ready to go and they're comfortable with the direction. But buying fox has the potential to change everything. I'm not saying they'll scrap everything, but what becomes the priority?
- Does Doom automatically become a villain in a currently planned film and what films would he work in? Do they set him up as a new overarching villain? - Does Silver Surfer get a solo? Or maybe become a part of one of the new cosmic films? How would they even bring him in? Would they try another alien invasion of Earth story or skip that whole bit and start when Galactus finds him on Zen-La, or well after he has been the Surfer, but just not having anything to do with Earth? - Do they immediately change course to work towards Annihilation as a major cosmic event film? - Could we see the Herald Ordeal? You know Marvel would do that shit. - Is a new Fantastic Four film a must, or do we maybe see Reed and others introduced as more or less cameos at first? It would be kinda cool to see a Reed cameo in Avengers 4 and they have time to do it if this happens now. If it does happen, could the Infinity Saga be how the team gets their powers? I'd be for it, even if it's a post credit. That would be the coolest post credit of all time. - Does anything happen with the X-Men? Do they keep them in a separate universe? If they do, do they continue with the current series? Or do they reboot with a new plan? - What other possibilities do you see being in the immediate future?

At the moment, they seem keen on introducing the Skrulls as a threat. If Fox is bought, I'd use Fantastic Four as a means to explore the cosmic elements of the MCU same as Guardians of the Galaxy such as Silver Surfer and Galactus. Disney doesn't have to restrict them to saving the Earth innumerable times. Just send the team on some space-faring voyage a la Star Trek then they stumble upon a situation and intervene. Doctor Doom can be built up to as the 'Loki' of Phase 4 or something. 'Annihilation' would be amazing as an Avengers film. As for the X-Men, as I said before they can allow the remaining films be released then end the Fox franchise entirely. Wait a bit then introduce them fresh in a brand new series. It'd be tempting to recast Wolverine but I'd wait until the second or third installment.

I do hope they progress with the Skrulls and perhaps use this as a way to advance that with other characters. I also agree that they don't have to focus on the Earth as a source of Alien attack and I would actually recommend that not happen with Galactus. The Skrulls present enough of a different twist on that idea that it's still viable, but I'd almost rather see Galactus used in the way they used him during Annihilation, as the world eater he is, but the one who had the power to defeat the Annihilation Wave single handedly. Perhaps that's how Surfer comes into it. IDK.
I do think Disney should put a halt on everything X-Men as soon as they can. If there is something that is too far along to stop, fine, but there's no need to waste the first introduction of Cable for example if you're just going to start over, and that franchise needs to start over with a clear direction. It's ok, but it could be so much more effective, and it's just sort of limping along with no real purpose.
Doom, I agree, they would have to bring in. I honestly don't know enough about him to say how though. Other than Fantastic Four, what other viable stories stand out as an appropriate way to do it?
