Ok so we've probably all heard this idea of having the FF be a genuine 60's family.
So Ant Man & The Wasp is set just after Civil War, and we'll see a little bit more of the past of Hank Pym from what I've heard.
We also know that Tony sold Avengers tower. So what does what do these things have to do with one another?
Hank worked with Reed & Sue in the early days and in a potentially similar way to how they are going to recover Janet, they end up recovering the Fantastic Four from something that trapped them in time as well. If this takes place just after Civil War, that team showing up occurs just before Tony sells the tower, and that makes them able to move in.

Ahhhh. Honestly, I am not a fan of all these superhero movies being based in the past. As much as I liked 'Wonder Woman' I thought it was a mistake to base the entire movie during 'World War 1' and the same goes with 'Captain Marvel' being based in the 90s when Carol should be Ms Marvel if it is set in the past. I think they should keep 'The Fantastic Four' in the present or it is just going to be another flop like the last movie. You mentioned Superman not being able to draw on another post but Superman has drawn with the 50s TV show, the 2 'Superman/Christopher Reeve' movies in the late 70s and 80s, 'Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman' in the 90s and 'Smallville' in the 00s but we have yet to see one successful movie or TV adaption of 'The Fantastic Four' that has actually worked and fans like. It might be a case of bad writers or it could be 'The Fantastic Four' simply doesn't work on screen.

The idea of exploring what took place in the MCU decades ago sounds really interesting if you ask me.

Fantastic 4 is basically "Lost in Space" meets Indiana Jones.

The Fantastic Four having lived in the past and being rediscovered in the Ant Man film doesn't work?
I mean granted, I don't think it'll actually go down like that.

Well to be honest, what I really think they'll do is have Sue and Reed running a science lab of some sort in the old Avengers tower and that's how we meet them.

Also I think you're getting nervous that this news lowers the chances that good ole buckey will get a "hey guys I'm cap" end credit scene ;-)

In all seriousness I just hope the next F4 movie is an origin story. I really like those sci fi based origins and it'd be a shame to skip it. I also think we need to see the characters before they transform, especially Ben Grimm.

I'm fairly convinced we'll get a T'Challa/Peter type Civil War appearance of their characters before we see them in a full film.

It worked fine for Panther, but for F4 it means we'll be skipping the origin story. Unless they're just introduced as scientists. Skipping Spidey's origin in my opinion took a lot away from the character.

Introduced as scientists is exactly what I meant.
I don't think skipping Spidey's origin took away from much. They couldn't go back and do another origin film. We've seen it. We get it. It would have just felt tedious.

Ok, but then they'd be old. When Janet is rescued she's going to be old as she is cast by Michelle Pfeiffer (and before anyone cuts my head off... I love, LOVE, Michelle Pfeiffer, one of Hollywoods most beautiful women; so don't jump on me for saying she's old; I'd still hit it, LOL).
I don't think we want an OLD Fantastic Four. I think if the Fantastic Four do come into the MCU (my fingers crossed) then maybe it could be that we've never heard of them before because they kept themselves secret, kinda like spies do, maybe(?).
I have a feeling if the Fantastic Four rights DO come back to Marvel it'll be as TV show. They may be soured in movies due to the previous failed efforts.

I didn't say they get trapped the same way Janet does

Why not just insert them in the current timeline?
