Hello everyone,
I read a book years ago but can't remember the title or the author. It was about a married couple who can't afford to stay in their house due to financial problems. An old man knocks their door one day offering to help them out financially if the wife agrees to have a baby for him. Reluctantly she agrees but as she progresses through the pregnancy she decides she wants to keep the baby. It's a thriller with possibly an occult theme. The baby is a girl and at the end of the book is about 4 or 5 years old, and is slightly evil (she killed her pet hamster I think). Her biological father is not her mother's husband but a man that the old man arranged to impregnate the wife in order to bring together two bloodlines and create a new life.
Please help, it was such a good read and I've regretted giving the book away!
