Based on reports it seems that Ant Man and the Wasp Woman will take place just after Civil War... So it would be awfully confusing for the general audience to go from Ant Mang in a battle for Earth back to Ant Mang in a story that takes place before.
I wonder if they simply omitted him from IW for this reason, saving him for Avengers 4...
Anyone know if he's actually been proven to be in the movie, aside from unofficial cast listings which could easily be for both movies or completely false.

He probably was in the trailer, you just couldn't see him.

I don't know if that's why they omitted him or not if they did, but I think they'll make it clear that it's taking place prior to Infinity War, so I don't think it will be an issue regardless.

Evangeline Lily said she was in it, so Ant-Man should be too.

How do they do that though without some awkward prologue? The movie shouldn't straight up tell us that it takes place before the movie we just saw unless it's a prequel, which of course it's not...

It's a good question, but I could easily see them doing something like what happened in Homecoming. If they pan down from a known event and the story takes off from there, you'll know exactly when it's taking place with no explanation required.
