Can anyone here present a reason or several reasons why Dr. Doom is a great villain??? I/m not going to lie: i've always thought he was a good villain but not a GREAT one. Plus like Magneto and the X-Men he seems to be a central villain to the FF. I mean what motive/history will he have to fight against the Avengers or the GOTG in future movies???

He is just written well and has the brains and powers to make him a formidable opponent. That is really all you need.

He's a dictator that actually works. He rules a totalitarian government, something that never works in the long run, and yet he's created a utopia.
I don't even need to go to his power set or character development. The above is an absolutely beautiful scenario to play off of.

In terms of a comic book villain he is one of the great archetypes! A classic moustache twirling, cackling villain. He's an evil scientist. He's an evil sorcerer. He's brilliant and yet insane. His face is disfigured and he wears a mask and hood. He tries to take over the world with grandiose plans. He has vast resources with which he can overwhelm his enemies (in this case he runs a country!) And most importantly he has a tragic backstory that links him to his main protagonist, Reed Richards! He is to Reed what Joker is to Batman, the ying to his yang.
Look throughout pop culture to see how many other villains are like him from Darth Vader to Skeletor!
If you don't see it... well then, you just don't see it.

Darth Vader was directly inspired by him.
That's all I need to know!

He's not only the inspiration for Vader, he's basically a prototype for Darkseid as well.
