As Disney's acquisition of Fox becomes more and more likely to become a reality, there is a lot of social chatter and click bait blogging about the fate of Fox's X-Men clogging up the interwebs.
It's fascinating to see ardent Fox Men fans slowly come to this realization. All of the classical stages of grief are present including rage and now... bargaining. Those same fans who were fervent believers that Marvel must never reclaim the rights to the X-Men are now pleading for some sort of merger with the MCU.
Some fans are proposing that the Fox X-Men be merged into the MCU. They want the recently retired Hugh Jackman to reprise his role as the world's only ill-tempered Canadian and engage in some strange team up shenanigans with the MCU Avengers.
I'm curious to know if anyone here sees this as desirable or even practical.
