JL failed, and came in way under expectations. Deal with it.
You're really just boring at this point.

JL failed, and came in way under expectations. Indeed it did however those expectations were less than what Suicide Squad grossed. Instead of grossing the $305-315 million that was expected it's going to up doing more like $240 million.

I like to think of it karma. Hows that? The radical DC fans on both this site and old imdb always bragged about how the Justice League film was going to not only going to be revolutionary but it would become one of the highest grossing films. They also acted like dicks about it as well. Not saying that Marvel fans are have clean hands. The radicalized ones on this site are just as bad. But yeah since the release of BVS the bullshit was non-stop.

The feminist agenda... that is an issue but not so much in the liberation of women or anything. Its not so heavy a problem because women can already do what they want and achieve what they want here. Hell Merkel and May are the most important leaders here. Yeah, they can do that here in the US also. It's been that way for a long time.

I allow racists to openly put down their bullshit on these boards and do nothing about it. I protect trolls from one side and chase the ones from the other side. Oh wait thats also not me. It was expected to do much better, and the estimation was surprisingly low. Somehow you think the estimation was the expectation and therefore not surprising.

Somehow you think the estimation was the expectation and therefore not surprising It was expected to do much better than it has actually done, that is the surprise but it was not expected to do better than it was estimated to do. Whether you think it should have made as much as the Avengers movie or not is one thing but it was never expected to do so or to gross as much as Batman vs Superman.

There are two ways to answer this.
A: It should have done better than the estimates, and was expected to, even though that isn't was high as the Avengers. The estimates were lower than expected, and I don't know why you're having trouble admitting that. B: Yeah, if they had put out good films you're damn right it should have done as good as the Avengers.

But yeah since the release of BVS the bullshit was non-stop. It's tiresome, isn't it? I don't understand the fan war, I never have. I'm partial to Marvel stuff, but I don't hate DC. I would say the MCU is superior to what we've seen from WB/DC or Fox, but there have been a few decent movies from both of those studios. The anti-Marvel faction on this site are kind of sad, raging against a successful product that does well financially as well as critically. But those Marvel zealots (and again, there are only a few of either and we all know who they are, there's just no avoiding them on this board) also do a fine job of embarrassing themselves on a regular basis. They pretend everything Marvel does is a 10/10 and all other CBMs are terrible, which is total nonsense. There's just so much angst and denial in these posts over something so trivial. We all have different tastes, I just don't understand why anyone would want to expend so much mental energy arguing each other's subjective opinion-- day after day, month after month. It's crazy. I know, I know, "I don't have to read it." But I'd rather not put half the board on ignore just to have a conversation about superhero movies.

The estimates were lower than expected, and I don't know why you're having trouble admitting that. No because estimates are made based upon expectations in the first place. Box office.com expected it to make less than Suicide Squad which is why it was estimated to perform worse. I don't think it would have done Avengers money regardless. The Avengers was something of a movie first. The idea and approach had already been done. Then done again with Avengers Age of Ultron which grossed less. Then it was done again with Civil War which also grossed less. Even on the DC side of things Batman vs Superman had already brought the main one together. So Justice League would be the fifth movie to have this idea, the novelty has faded. And even if all these movies had been as good as Wonder Woman you would still not have had a movie for half the cast, The Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg. Would The Avengers have done as well as it did if they hadn't made Thor or Captain America prior? No.

The numbers are interesting...
Thor Ragnarok wins the overall take added together and the foreign market taken alone. But the domestic market still leans heavily towards Wonder Woman. Its still over a 100 mil difference in the US in favor of Wondy (as of 12-13-17) . Why is that? Does Gal Gadot being Israelian really matter that much? Did the "American-ness" of the character turn foreigners off? Is the feminist agenda not as big an issue abroad? Did WB not advertise in other countries as heavily?
Well, Antisemitism is really out of control in Europe right now.
