I'm watching it tomorrow. I'm hoping for a 'Mortal Engines' trailer. Did you see TLJ and if so, what are your thoughts on it? (Spoiler free please)

I'm gonna guess people are gonna see trailers for every upcoming Marvel film plus Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Ready Player One, and Incredibles 2.

(Spoiler free please) So many bad reviews of TLJ by viewers on IMDB To be honest IMDb is the birthplace of bad reviews. Search any popular or critically acclaimed recent movie and you'll find hundreds of reviews where people try to explain why they think it's the absolute worst movie ever made.

Black Panther, Bright (Netflix film), Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom & Avengers: Infinity War. What did you think of the movie? This is all non-spoiler so you're safe here. These are my initial thoughts: Well, that happened. The first 1.5 hours of the movie is great with moments of brilliance but that last hour... I honestly thought the movie was almost over, but it just got started. This is one of the most unpredictable recent movies I've seen. And for anyone who thought TFA was too similar to A New Hope and thought this would be similar to Empire rest assured, it is not. It's actually almost 100% original ideas and that's so ballsy. Not everything worked but I have so much respect that they went into this route. Not everyone will like all the ideas ans I understand if you don't enjoy parts of the movie because of that but I can't believe they actually did it. The acting is unbelievable. Hamill is amazing but Adam Driver is the star of the movie. Seriously Oscar worthy. I actually got emotional during the film near the end and I didn't see it coming, it just hit me. I want to see it again right now. For the last 20 minutes I kept wishing that it wouldn't end and if a 2.5 hour movie makes you think that you know it's good. Personally I enjoyed TFA but this movie blows TFA out of the water and then some. Empire will probably always remain my favorite Star Wars movie but this is top 3 material. Even though Empire is my favorite I dare to say that the last hour of The Last Jedi may be the best hour ever in a Star Wars movie. I have to let it sink in for a while but if you're doubting if you should see it, go see it. One thing that was also perfect was the cinematography. Remember the last time when you got emotional because of how beautifully shot a movie was? That's how good the cinematography is. Because of all the new ideas and lore this could be a movie that some fans won't like but when it works it works so well. The first 1.5 hours was a bit slow and I wondering where the progress was but in retrospect you need that first 1.5 hours to prepare yourself for the last hour. I think this movie will improve even more with rewatches. After you've seen the entire movie I think you especially can appreciate the first part even more. I don't know what grade to give it yet, but if you've read what I wrote the grade shouldn't really matter. This is a cinematic achievement of the highest level.

I do think this may become a polarizing movie among the die-hard Star Wars fans considering the risks it takes. Maybe, just like with Empire, it'll take a while before everyone gets on board.

One last thing. I loved how the good and evil was depicted in this movie. And even better, I was so happy with the way the Jedi & Sith were fighting. I have to agree with Breaking Banter, the Jedi & Sith felt more like samurai than knights in this movie and I loved that.

Apparently Johnson has a great love for manga/anime which heavily influences his directing. I haven't seen the movie yet, but the idea of the lightsaber duels being more in line to a samurai style sounds so badass to me.
