Disney monopolizing the entertainment industry is a big one. How about Disney forcing everybody else to step up their game?
You might actually wind up with better products everywhere. Have you considered that?
I suppose that’s possible, but I doubt it. It seems more likely that studios like Sony and Paramount will go out of business.

I suppose that’s possible, but I doubt it. It seems more likely that studios like Sony and Paramount will go out of business. So let's just take a step back and realize that Pirates of the Caribbean and the Fast & The Furious didn't exist 20 years ago. The Alien franchise or the Terminator franchises only made films once a decade for the longest time.
We don't watch the same things all the time forever.
New franchises come about.
Disney may own what last year would have amounted to 40% of the box office, but that doesn't mean it will always be 40% of the box office. It's not like owning brick and morter businesses where your overall stake can't change overnight. In the film industry, any of these studios can turn something you've never even heard of or a book series or a TV series etc into a major film franchise, and that 40% of Disney will go down again. At some point things like Star Wars or Marvel may run out of gas. There are no guarantees.

I thought I just did. That was me being complimentary. "Congrats" on... Disney further ruining Hollywood. You just called the entire MCU fanbase clapping seals. And Disney is not ruining Hollywood. You're right; that seal bit is an overreach. I stand by the Disney thing.

Nope. I wholeheartedly agree.
I was ripped to shreds about a month ago for saying that they own far too much. I hope people can now see what I meant.
DC or Star Trek will be next. Maybe it won't be until a long time from now, but I'm almost positive one of those will be owned by Disney as well.

I mean, better movies is better movies. Star Trek? No. The Orville? That's a Fox show right?

I just realized something, does this technically mean that Disney owns the international rights for James Cameron’s Titanic now?
