It will star Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Rihanna, and Awkwafina (wtf is her?) as the team of swindlers. Damian Lewis is the antagonist while Richard Armitage and James Corden have supporting roles.

Maybe Rihanna will surprise us but I think Mindy Kaling should come before her in the picture. Mindy is billed before her but they put Rihanna ahead of her in line in the picture. I wonder how the powers that be decided on that.

End of discussion.

Only mild curiosity is what Dakota Fanning is doing in it since most of the news I hear about her films concern dull dramas about autism or deaf mutes or dysfunctional families.
Case in point, the Bell Jar (2018): A young woman finds her life spiraling out of control as she struggles with mental illness.
I'll get in line now for that one.

She's also gonna be the female lead in that TNT drama 'The Alienist' in January.

An Ocean's Trilogy spin-off, it's about time.. I can't say I have been impressed with the original trilogy. They're well done but it's always up its own ass about how cool they are.

Ocean's Eleven is the best without doubt. While the latter two didn't live up the quality of the first one, I still enjoyed them. The trilogy has this unique sense of humor in the plot and dialogue which I really liked.

Not sure how I feel about this to be honest. I thought it was a mistake to remake 'Ocean's 11' with George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon etc in the first place 'cause the original movie was made as movie for the Rat Pack movie to showcase Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy David Jr, Joey Bishop and Peter Lawford etc and to showcase Las Vegas at a time when it was becoming more mainstream after being run by the mob for years. If you watch some Frank Sinatra and Rat Pack documentaries they talk about this in detail and I feel the creators of the remake didn't understand the actual concept of the original movie but with the amount of remakes we are getting these days it will only be a matter of time before we get a remake of '4 For Texas' or 'Robin and the 7 Hoods' next. I'll take 'Birds of Prey' and 'Swords of Sorrow' any day over this 'cause they are original.

This comes out a few months before Widows with Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, and Elizabeth Debicki;actually its own cast is just as impressive as Ocean's 8. I wonder which will do better? Widows seems to be setting itself up to be the more gritty realistic (and awards friendly) version.

They had me at Sandra B., Cate B., and Richard A. I never liked the OCEANS movies (not a Matt Damon fan at all, not much on Clooney either) but I'm loving the new cast.

Very much looking forward to it. I loves me a heist movie, and with that cast I am hoping it will be a good one (unless of course they spent all the money on the actresses and forgot to hire a decent writer).
