If they are gonna let Deadpool stay r rated and are open to making r rated movies why not give us another movie with the same tone as WS?

Careful. Wanting a R rated marvel film is a controversial opinion on this site!

Hopefully! (fingers crossed) The reason I loved The Winter Soldier so much was because it felt like an action packed political thriller and it was pretty dark too. It does seem like after the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 , the tone in these films have become much more comedic (filled with lame one liners and lame try hard jokey performances.)

It's pretty serious for the MCU but there's still humor. But it's not over-indulgent. I'd say that whole trend went back further to Iron Man 3 with the kid and...Trevor Slattery, ugh. The CA films have avoided this.

The Avengers seemed to start it.
The movies prior to that didn't have much in the way of jokes, Thor maybe the most, no real different from other superhero movies at the time.
Then The Avengers seemed to have a joke a minute and then it changed a lot after that.

Yes because jokes in comic movies are just plain wrong.

Not true. Civil War and Spiderman were both more in tone with TWS than GotG. AoU too. Only Dr. Strange, GoTG2 and Ragnarok were in the same tone. Maybe antman.

Spiderman and CW were way closer to TWS in tone rather than GotG. Even the kind of humor was different. Need I remind you that TWS also had humor?

I wouldn't say Tony was comedic for most of CW...especially the ending.

Stark was serious for 10 seconds or so?

There was plenty of humor in the ASM and Raimi movies, even when they weren't saying anything.
And Stark was serious for most of the movie, actually.

Far from it. Yes there are some jokes and one really cringy bad timed one I could do without but overal its a very serious film dealing with serious issues. I dont think Doctor Strange is like GotG or Antman. Doctor Strange is more like WS. #teamcolden
