I've seen the original version and the American one. I've had no desire to watch the original again. It's so brutal. But it's interesting the American version the Pregnant woman is deaf from the Car accident that killed her boyfriend. One major change is the Ending. Which I won't spoil here. But I'm curious what others thought of the American version compared to the original. The American remake seemed to have a troubled history, and very little love from viewers, but I'm curious to see it. The differences that I've heard before, and now from you, do intrigue me even if my expectations aren't high. Without spoiling it, is the difference in the ending a change in the pseudo 'twist?' Does the motivation of the antagonist change? I would say yes...

Recently watched (probably) the last one I will watch until next year; Santa Isn't Real.
It sucks. It works for the kind of thing I typically watch in season, but it's cheap, poorly written, poorly made, terribly acted, had weak effects, and just isn't really any good... But, it's short and evokes the winter and Christmas imagery and was new in 2023.
But it's bad. The dialogue fucking sucks and is more annoying than anything else I've recently seen and the whole story and whatever 'twists' they're going for are nonsensical and stupid.
But it's like 75 mins, so it didn't piss me off as much as it could have.

Well I lied.. I guess. I watched another, but sorta by accident. I watched this movie on Amazon 'Freevee' called Red Snow from 2022. I figured it sounded wintry, but it does take place at christmas, and while it barely has anything to do with Christmas at all, it still kinda counts.
It's about as amateurish and cheap looking as the last one I wrote about, but it's just so much better and more enjoyable. You can't go into this sort of thing expecting it to be anything more than it is, but if you're up for this sort of thing it's a lot less annoying than some of the others. You can do worse, and I have, as evidenced above.
It's about an aspiring novelist who wants to write a vampire book, who encounters a wounded bat that she tries to nurse back to health, who then turns back into his human/vamp form, and then gives her notes on the authenticity of her manuscript. Then vampire hunters and his vampire cohorts come looking for him and shit goes down.
It's not especially good, but it's a little funnier, a little more entertaining, and a little less annoying than I was expecting. Nothing memorable at all, but not as bad as you might think.
