I don't mind Luke's death. I like it. It was doing something new with the Force, and I was on board with it. I just didn't like that we got a proper duel between him and Kylo before it. But you can't deny that it wasn't beautifully shot! The lighting and cinematography with the sunset and Luke's silhouette and seeing it just fade away were all perfect. That scene alone was one of the best and most beautifully shot scenes I ever seen, definitely one of the best of 2017. The whole film is definitely well shot. Rian Johnson knows how to shoot a film

But it was so quick. Had it lingered on the sunset it may have resonated.
