Bengals fans should be thrilled. Marvin Lewis is a dull coach who was never going to get anything done, 15 years and he couldn’t win a playoff game, also he had no enthusiasm, didn’t inspire anything in the organization or the fanbase and he always had the same dull mediocre teams. It’s beyond time for him to go, maybe the Bengals can be interesting again although I think they need a new QB, Dalton seems to just be getting worse.

Even money on Jeff Fisher replacing him, followed by Andy Dalton's suicide.

I think he quit 8yrs ago. No, that was sometime after the 1:36 mark of the 4th quarter in a game on January 9, 2016. Remember they started 10-2 that season, with eight straight wins in a row.

Marvin Lewis on his quitting the Bengals, "I have been trying to get fired for years. I have basically been a crap coach for 15 seasons, but the Bengals inexplicably kept me on anyway. No matter what I did, they kept bringing me back. Therefore, I have decided to quit the team. I just do not want to coach the team another 15 years. I do not know what else to do besides quit to get out of here."
More to follow.

They just couldn't get over that hurdle of winning a playoff game. Lewis had relative success in Cincy...and they were patient and hopeful. They simply couldn't advance past the wild card round. It's the right thing to move on...and is probably a few years overdue.
