After watching the replay, I think the refs got it right, he didnโt catch it.

NFL needs to readdress this bullshit. It's happened way too much this season. That was a touchdown.

I feel sick. Knew it wasn't a TD well before they went to review.

After watching the replay, I think the refs got it right, he didnโt catch it. next time you give it a watch - watch his knee the whole time... he has possession when his knee is down - granted he didn't cross the goal line - but looked to me like the ground caused the fumble - after his knee was down.....

you never throw late over the middle. a high school qb knows that.

HOLY SHIT!!!!!! That was the most bizarre game Iโve seen all year, certainly lived up to expectations. The Steelers did a massive choke, no idea why Big Ben didnโt just throw it away. Both teams did their best to blow it and just, holy fucking shit!!! Thatโs why nothing beats the NFL!!

I'd just like to see them modify the rule in that situation and say he was in control when the knee hit the ground and give them the ball at the 1.

Terrific game between the Pats and the Steelers. This heavyweight clash didn't disappoint.

The thing is, the knee was down when he had control, so that's a catch. But since nobody touched him, he was allowed to continue his drive, and he broke the line of the end zone with the ball before it bobbled, so, TD. Terrible decision by the refs. They failed to considered the two parts of the play. The catch was done once the knee was down with full control, the extension was because nobody touched him.
The Steelers got robbed of a victory because of a wrong referee decision.

Unfortunately, that doesn't matter in the rule. wasn't he touched by the defender when his knee was down? and he still had control of the ball? then reaching over the goal line the ground caused the fumble?

Doesn't matter if he fumbled later because the ball was already inside the end zone. Knee down with full control = catch. Nobody touched him so he continued to extend the play. Ball broke the line = TD. Then and only then the ball moved, but by that point it was already a TD. That's the way I see it, and I think I'm right.
