IMDB score is relatively high yet. They could have spam that well as well..People giving it zeros are quite possible since some people hold the OT very sacred. I don't buy it, but there's crazy people all around I guess.

TLJ is a soulless creation. It is utterly forgettable, and rivals the prequel trilogy in many ways. But even the prequels have a story, and did not drag out utterly pointless ideas like TLJ did.
The deus ex machina scenes are horrible. There is no character development. And unlike with TFA, even the old characters cannot save this trainwreck of a bloated movie. There are so many things that are off or make no sense whatsoever.
Yes, it is a massive box office hit, but it is a waste of a movie. I’ld rate it a 3, and only for the one or two good scenes with Luke.

Funny, you just repeated some of the very criticism people are making, while saying you don't understand why people didn't like it. "The movie did have its problems." Precisely. The ones you pointed to, and some others. And all this talk about hatred is hyperbole. Yeah, I didn't like that much a movie I saw. Big deal. That's not hatred. So, when people are not crazy about a movie like you are, you call them haters? Understanding and tolerance for others' opinions are not your fortes... Of this modern batch, the one I really like is Rogue One. Both TFA and TLJ have too many problems for my taste. Yeah, but the issue is you give a movie a what 5,6 for the effort? 7 maybe? People are voting in droves a zero in RT. Those are haters (or bots) google bots last jedi rotten tomatoes Yes, I did say elsewhere that I gave it a 6, and could be convinced to downgrade it to a 5. But it's not lower than that, for sure. It does have its good parts. So, zero in RT is indeed a trollish, unfair move.

I'm not sure what movie they wanted. With Force Awakens it was too similar to A New Hope. Now it's too different from anything Star Wars has done before. This is my complaint, but with a different angle. TFA was too much like A New Hope plot-wise, but the feel and look was that of a Star Wars movie, which was perfectly fine. Then TLJ was (mostly) unique and new in its plotline, but it didn't have the look or feel of a Star Wars movie. They just need to hit that middle ground. In fact, there were several moments (the interior of the Resistance carrier, the talk of fuel, the "lightspeed" travel, and some of the space imagery) that looked and felt more like a Star Trek movie. They even use Cloacking Devices.

You know that there is a vast "in between" too different and too similar. Personally my problems is not with it's too different but with the complete abandonment of certain plots introduced in the TFA and butchering of certain character from the original trilogy. That being said, I didn't hate the movie and it's not even the worst Star Wars IMO. I put it above TPM and AotC. I'll still be watching IX but the way I see it Disney should've used the outline written by George Lucas.

They even use Cloacking Devices. Cloaking devices existed in the Star Wars universe before The Last Jedi. They were never used in any of the movies, but they were mentioned in The Empire Strikes Back.

Or people simply didnt like it. Sure b but a zero? That i don't agree either, if i didn't really like the movie. At the very least it has good cinematography, music, set design, special effects and the performances are decent to good

It had very little respect for the original characters.
Especially Admiral Ackbar!

my main problems with it were:
1. Luke changing in a way that didnt seem consistent with his character 2. Rose being uninteresting and also saving Finn (and preventing him from doing anything remotely useful in this installment) 3. Holdo's exit used as a last resort when it could have been used as a primary strategy - made no sense strategically this way 4. Luke dying. Jesus. They gave us 1 second of Luke in the Force and now this?! 5. Rip off New Hope or other SW tropes too much 6. hyper-space maneuvers logic 7. Not showing anything about Snokes motivation or personality, he was just a default "pure evil" character. 8. not showing enough bad things Kylo Ren Or Snoke have done, for the viewers to really be all behind the rebels (especially for new comers I see this as an issue) Compere that one scene in which Darth Wader blasts Leias home planet. SOLD. Where was a moment like this in TLJ?
but with all of this, I really enjoyed the movie and think it was very well made and went to see it twice already and considering a third viewing. I just found it highly entertaining. The great acting by Adam Driver also helped a lot.

I found myself looking at the watch several times, found the movie boring and long in some stretches. I give it a 5 or 6 out of 10, and continue to feel that Rogue One is the *only* movie that approached the quality of the three original ones, in the entire history of sequels and prequels.

Having just seen the movie I can't figure it out at all. Looking forward to Johnson's trilogy at any rate.

While watching the movie, I kept expecting Ashton Kutcher to jump out and say I was punked. Wow, just wow. How does this happen? Fans waited a long time for the return of Luke Skywalker, Jedi Master, and all they got was the grumpy old troll from Dora the Explorer. The characterization of Luke was horrible, a complete slap in the face to Mark Hamill and Star Wars in general. I can't believe they let Rian Johnson do all of this. It reminds me of Boomerang when Eddie Murphy let that guy do the Strange commercial unchecked. 'Last Jedi, it stinks so good'. No, no, it smells like the giant turd that it is.

Mark Hamill was displeased with the script too (Lukes choices). I am sad about Luke having turned out a resigned grumpy old man too. but otherwise i liked the movie and really look forward to more Kylo Ren. And I bet they will bring Luke back in one way or another… people love that man…
