This is a weird thread, but when my wife catches me talking to the dog, it's often in the voice of a movie character. I wonder if anyone else does this...I've always been a mimic...
Michael Caine as Alfred in the Dark Knight movies Jon Voight from "Anaconda" Mr. Horse from "Ren & Stimpy" (also occasionally Frank Zappa as the pope from R&S) Tim Curry from "Congo" Jack Nicholson from "The Shining"
I've also been known to sing the ending credits song to the Super Mario Bros Super Show (no joke, despite my username) before a treat. My dog knows to jump when I get to "just like that!!!!"
Anyone else do this sort of thing?

I have weird conversations with my cat and bounce ideas off him, but so far I haven't employed any accents. He's a very vocal cat, so maybe it makes me appear slightly less insane while having conversations with him. If I ask him a question, he will meow back.
Michael Cane as Alfred seems apt, though. After all, we are our pets' servants.

I don't do characters when I talk to my cat just my normal voice. I do sing to her often though.

I say this to my dog all the time when I'm leaving the house (Yes, I even call him "pig")

Whenever calling my dog Toby I yell, "your name is Toby!" He doesn't get it.

I don't really use voices for my dogs, but I talk to my cockatiel in something approximating Jay Mohr in Paulie.

Sometimes I do my Mojo Jojo impression for my cats, even though it doesn't impress them much.

My girlfriend does a ventriloquist thing where she does the voice of the dog. Itβs the voice of Cartman from South Park.
