Means Giants aren't rebuilding, they're going for it now.
Better than Pablo who sucks, but on the downside of his career.
This means they're going to get more free agents.
But on the radio this morning they weren't too happy about it.

Depends on the prospects they ended up giving up, I know Christian Arroyo is the centerpiece and was a consensus top 100 prospect last year but he struggled mightily in his first stint. As for the other 2, if they were mid-level prospects, then it's fine and you have the added bonus of dumping Denard Span onto TB. If they were 2 highly regarded prospects, then I'd find the move questionable simply because Longoria is on the wrong side of 30 and his output over the past 4 years doesn't really suggest he's in for a career renaissance, especially with moving to AT&T Park. Then again, Ryan Zimmerman just had perhaps his best year ever in his age 33 season after just about everyone, myself included, had written him off.
With all that, the Giants were abysmal last year and even a top form Longoria isn't going to right that ship.

Odd that Eva Longoria is in the news today too (for having a baby).

I is. Been posting in reddit for the last year but it's a limited forum over there. I like the format in the old IMDB better. Also, I miss Marco.

Welcome back F! You'll get used to the format over here soon enough. It's not the same as the old board but it has held up pretty well thus far.

Interesting trade, I donβt know much about the prospects but I think itβs a better move for the Rays than the Giants. Longoria is aging and I think itβs good that the Rays traded him for prospects, they need to rebuild. Longoria is still a good player but the Giants need a lot more than him to be in playoff contention, they are in what is probably the hardest MLB division and they have a lot of holes, weak bullpen and outfield mainly.

Agreed. The Giants have been at least in talks with virtually every free agent and the rumor mill is churning in their favor, but they have so many holes to fill. This move, unto itself, isn't a great one for them. If they had executed just about everything else they wanted to (namely landing Stanton), or if they subsequently manage to add a Harper or Machado, then Longoria is a nice supplemental piece. Beyond that though...

It signals the end for the Panda, but with Longoria's numbers in the tank lately, I don't see much of an improvement there.

I was surprised, especially afer he badmouthed them when he left, that they brought his fat ass back. I hope he's not on the team in any form this year, just a waste of space.
