That you know of? I feel like too many shows try to be way awesome and what not. A show that doesn't really try too hard to be great? That's what I wanna know about. It just tries to be mediocre, then I would like it. Well, maybe. I like married with children, it knows what it is, lol. It don't pretend to be what it is not.

Good question actually. Back in the day you might have been able to get away with that. It seems like they cannot afford to do that on purpose, given expenses and whatnot. Today that is.

Why would anything or anyone try to be mediocre?

I'm sure there are plenty of shows that have budget constraints that prevent them from being anything more than mediocre or maybe average is a better word.
Not everything can be awesome.

I mean I sort of feel like any show which takes oneself too seriously as such would be that in immense and foolhardy spades as well.

Most Tyler Perry shows are desperately hoping to be mediocre but sadly fail miserably at even that.

Star Trek Voyager comes to mind, although I'm not sure of their intentions, but they didn't appear to try to make the show anything special.

I like married with children, it knows what it is, lol. I don't think that's a good example. That show tried to subvert the clichés of family sitcoms.

That makes no sense.
Why would anyone keep watching a mediocre show?
I think you mean a show that is good but not great. That is much different than being mediocre.
