So this morning I skimmed through the various TV stations, and many of them featured special holiday programming: movie stations were running sentimental Christmas movies; family channels had kiddie programs featuring Santa; the religious networks broadcast church services; and the Hallmark Channel was running its "Happy Yule Log" special featuring a blazing fireplace and various puppies, kittens and a piglet being their cute manic selves. Even the news shows focused on heartwarming human interest stories. Oxygen decided to run something called Homicide for the Holidays, a collection of stories about violent maniacs who murdered housefuls of people on Christmas using a variety of weapons including guns, knives and flamethrowers. Real nice, Oxygen--catering to that neglected psychopath audience? Shame on you. I hope whoever thought this was great holiday programming gets visited by a sled pulled by diarrhea-stricken reindeer.
