CLARISSA EXPLAINS IT ALL was about a teenage girl that talked to the audience about her thoughts on life. When it ended, they made this pilot that has nothing to do with the other show. CLARISSA only talks to the audience at the beginning and the end. The rest is a typical workplace sitcom. There aren't any cutaway gags nor exagerated versions of mundane life events.
There are some jokes that, while not offensive, didn't feel appropriate for younger viewers... so who was this made for?
Even if I had put all that aside, I still wouldn't have liked it. I found it boring and unfunny, despite Melissa Joan Hart's best efforts.

Haven't seen Clarissa Explains it All in years, but I recall liking it when it was on. |

I wish they'd put the complete series of "Clarissa Explains it All" on DVD. It's ridiculous. Why release only season 1 then quit? But.... Honestly, I don't get how Even season 1 was able to come out. Nickelodeon cuts the All that Music acts out of the TeenNick repeats for copyright issues but yet "Keep on Dancin'" by Alvin Clash is featured in every Clarissa Episode On top of that, It's not even really Alvin Clash's version. They're directly using Queen Latifah's sample "Dance for me" |
