My hard plastic cutting boards fit nicely in my dishwasher. Sterilized.

I like wood overall, but also have plastic. They can both be cleaned and sterilized.

I prefer wood but use plastic because I can put it in the dishwasher. I would never use a glass cutting board because they blunt your knives.

I voted for "rubber," although I'm not 100% certain that that is the chemical makeup of the one that I mean. I have wood, plastic and "rubber." The one, in question, is very ply-able, washes with ease and never slips on the counter top. Once it's in place, it grips the surface, but is easily peeled off. The sharpest knife, or cleaver, won't cut through it. It comes in beautiful colors, and feels vaguely like the old "Silly Putty," to the touch.
I looked to see if the real material was printed anywhere on it. It isn't, but my guess is that latex works into the formula, somehow.
(I don't think that I've ever seen a glass cutting board.)

I'll go with the general consensus and say wood as well.

Wood for homemade bread, rolls etc.
Washable thick restaurant supply "plastic" for everything else. Bought at Sam's Club and cut in 1/2 because it was too big.
Goes into the dishwasher with every dish load and gets a hot water scrub after every use.

...glass... easily cleanable and does not mark up like softer surfaces...
