Wakanda is still in Africa and the accent Boseman chose is ‘African’ but it just sounds bland. And you’re right, there are idiots in fandom, you’re one of them and I’m certain that I could prove as much any time I liked. Do you know how many "British" accents there are? How many different accents there are in India depending on where you're from? A fictional country in Africa may speak in an accent that sound kinda African but isn't exactly the same as others in Africa. |

And your point doesn't make sense. Majority of people who roam around the world and talk to people of different cultures eventually water down their native accents. In short, they have weak accents. So it makes perfect sense that TChalla doesn't have an excessively strong accent. |

Im from The Netherlands and I can tell from what part of the country someone comes from just by listening to their accent.
So your argument is moot about them using the same accent.

I think people complain about accents way too much. They complain about Wanda's accent, WW's accent, Harley's accent and now BP's? Jeeze. This is why I don't let myself get bothered by accents in films. They're not real. And besides, I'd have to enjoy far fewer Sean Connery performances if I allowed myself to get wrapped up in the fact that he always sounds Scottish, even as an Egyptian pretending to be a Spaniard in Highlander. Or when he sounded Scottish while portraying an Irish cop in The Untouchables...and he won the freaking Oscar for that. |

And besides, I'd have to enjoy far fewer Sean Connery performances if I allowed myself to get wrapped up in the fact that he always sounds Scottish, even as an Egyptian pretending to be a Spaniard in Highlander. Or when he sounded Scottish while portraying an Irish cop in The Untouchables...and he won the freaking Oscar for that. Funny thing...he was the first choice to play Longshanks in Braveheart, the Evil English King who tried to take over Scotland (which isn't what really happened but oh well)...and he'd have had a Scottish accent in that role too. |
