It's going to be another scratchy, smelly lent.

Fags, booze, and rollerblading, in the parochial house here. Hope - that the useless football team I support will avoid relegation

My cousin's wife is orthodox Christian and she gives up meat I've known some Catholics who never ate meat on every Friday in general and not just during lent. I know it's for religious reasons but I don't really know why exactly. I just know that a bunch of people in my college did it and I never heard of the requirement of making that sacrifice every week. Most Catholics only don't eat meat on Fridays during lent not throughout the whole year. But I don't give up anything lol

And this was at a public school, too. IOW I didn't even go to a Christian or religious school. I guess the school system was trying to appease the Christian contingent by never serving meat other than a seafood dish on Fridays.

The few hospital cafeterias I've been in all serve fish and seafood heavily on fridays all year round. Probably more to do with appealing to the masses rather than a particular persuasion of the hospital administrators.

Perhaps I do a reverse-lent, since I generally eat a burger every Friday.
