I'm trying to find this short film/programme (not sure which it was) that I must've seen in the late 80's, early 90's. It was a haunting story, like a ghost story.
It's about a woman who had this experience. She was in this room, suddenly the door bursts open and there is this man standing there. He stares at her with a vacant, bewildered, scared look on his face and simply says 'Oh my god'. The woman is scared witless by this and can never really explain what happened to anyone as, from what I can remember, she never saw the stranger again. Some time later she is hiking (somewhere like Dartmoor), she meets this man, a fellow hiker and they sort of hook up and get together romantically. They end up staying at a B&B or a hotel together and the woman becomes convinced that the man IS the stranger who burst through her door and said those words to her that time. She is so convinced that she persuades the man to re-enact the experience to her. She tells him what to do - to burst through the door and say those words. First of all the man is joking around and being silly about it but then he opens the door and the exact same thing happens. He becomes deadly serious, looks at her with that bewildered and scared look on his face and simply says 'Oh my god' again. As far as I can remember that was the end. He was indeed the same man. It was very haunting.
I know I'm not giving you guys/girls much to go on here, sorry about that but if someone could help me out I'd be really grateful. It's really bugging me lately. It was just like something you'd expect to see on The Twilight Zone or something. And yes, I've checked and rechecked all the TZ episodes.
Thanks, Ewan.

Ews, your description reminds me of "The Ghost of Sorworth Place," on an episode of Night Gallery. It was made in the early 70's but perhaps you saw it in syndication.

Yeah, I was going to say that you might consider looking through other horror anthology shows like "Night Gallery," "Outer Limits," "One Step Beyond," and "Tales from the Darkside." I've given your post a lot of thought, but I can't find your narrative. Sorry.

Oh my god thank you so much for that. Problem solved! I've just googled 'The Lorelei' and it matches my description. So pleased I've got this sorted at last, it's been driving me insane. Thanks again.

May I ask how you made the film name into a live link? IMDb used to have that capability as part of the mark-up language; is it the same?

Hi hutch. find a page you want to show here. go up to the typing box where you see the entire url address. http slashes and all. highlight with your mouse and copy it. come back here go up to the box with the world and the paper. that is the link button. insert the url into the top space -- just paste. hit the create link button voila.

Take a look at this image. It shows how to do it. imdb2.freeforums.net/attachment/download/38Hutch48 you can also apply it to a film title. So if you have written The Goonies (1985) here, select "The Goonies (1985)" and follow deembastille's instructions and the url you pasted will be applied just like at imdb.
