I just read the very sad news that Sue Grafton, author of the Alphabet Murder series, has passed away, after a 2 year fight with cancer. I always looked forward to the publication of the newest "letter," although I always waited to purchase the paperback issue. I've enjoyed A is for Alibi to X. Y is for Yesterday, was published in August ... that remains on the "to read" list. How sad that she's gone, and that Z is for ____, will remain a mystery. www.sfgate.com/news/article/Mystery-writer-Sue-Grafton-dies-in-California-12462119.php

Sad to hear she died. I'm sure the publisher will have another author complete the sequence.

I've been reading the Alphabet series for many years. I hope she left detailed notes about the final book.

Yeah, I heard that. Stinks. Hopefully they won't get some lesser talent to finish it off. It's slightly unusual as most writers have a couple of books put by for times when the publisher's screaming and writer's block is raging. She did publish at a fairly slow pace though and has been ill for a while so perhaps she'd used up her spare material.
