Just thought I would share this with fans of Stephen King and The Shining. I have to say out of all the Stephen King novels that haven't been adapted to screen yet 'Doctor Sleep' is the one I want to see made the most and is one of the my favourite Stephen King novels of the past decade. For those who are unaware 'Doctor Sleep' is the official sequel to 'The Shining' and continues on the story following a grownup Danny Torrance. The novel came out a few years ago and Stephen King said he was looking to make sequels to some of his other novels but hasn't updated fans about that yet. I think a 'Firestarter' or 'Salem's Lot' sequel could be great and better than the movie sequels which were both awful in my opinion.

Mike Flanagan Wants to Adapt ‘The Shining’ Sequel Novel ‘Doctor Sleep’
With hits like Oculus, Hush, Ouija: Origin of Evil and Gerald’s Game under his belt, it’s safe to say Mike Flanagan is one of the hottest directors working in the horror space today. Now that he knocked Gerald’s Game, previously thought to be un-filmable, out of the park, does Flanagan hope to bring any other Stephen King tales to the screen?
Speaking with Lilja’s Library, Flanagan revealed his dream King adaptations.
“There are so many,” Flanagan answered, when the site questioned him about which other Stephen King stories he’d love to adapt. “But the ones I’d want to do the most are DOCTOR SLEEP and LISEY’S STORY. In both cases, it’s because I identify with the protagonists so much. LISEY’S STORY is a stunning piece of work, a beautiful exploration of marriage. And who wouldn’t want to venture back into the world of Danny Torrance?”
Recently, King himself expressed interest in a Lisey’s Story adaptation.
As for Doctor Sleep, that’s of course King’s recent sequel to The Shining…
“Doctor Sleep takes place years after the events at the Overlook Hotel and focuses on the the now middle-aged Danny who is still traumatized. He’s followed in his father’s footsteps and has problems with anger management and alcoholism. He soon gives up drinking and settles in a small town in New Hampshire. While there, his psychic abilities start to resurface and he develops a psychic link with a 12-year-old girl named Abra Stone who he must save after he discovers her life is being threatened by a tribe of paranormals led by a man named Rose the Hat.”
