Does this annoy any of you? I remember people discussing this on IMDb. When watching a movie on say Lifetime channel they keep their logo on the screen the whole time. And its not just Lifetime either. Other channels do it also. When talking about this on IMDb before they closed their message boards I suggested that after each commercial display there logo for about 15 or 20 seconds then make it disappear. Most people agreed with me. But to keep it on the screen the whole time is ridiculous.

I'm curious when this logo in the corner thing began. I know for a fact they didn't do that during the 1930s-1970s, and a couple years ago I watched some off-air taped episodes of "Wheel of Fortune" from the 1980s which didn't feature the logo in the corner either.

It depends. If it's small and unobtrusive, it's not such a big deal. What I hate is when they come back from break and put up a large animated in-screen graphic advertising an upcoming show, while the program is playing.
The more annoying thing to me is ads on the glass of hockey rinks during NHL games.

It started on German TV and spread. Officially called a 'digital on-screen graphic', shortened to DOG. Used as a sort of 'watermark' for programs that are recorded by viewers.

It's really annoying when you're watching a nice Godzilla movie on Starz, and he's in the middle of destroying a bunch of stuff, and the damn ad for The Girlfriend Experience pops up on the screen.

I don't find logos annoying, I just can't see the reason behind it. It's not like I don't know what network /channel / station I'm watching.

In Canada, the CTV network delights in displaying a huge banner ad for whatever right at the start of every show, so you can't read the credits and see who is guest starring in that episode. Our cable provider also switches to the Canadian network, even if you're watching the US network, usually after it's already been on for a few minutes, never right at the start, to ensure an awkward interruption where you either return to the start of the show again or you miss several lines of dialogue entirely.
