Hi all,I hope that you had a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year, and I would like to hear about what first viewings you loved in December? The film-related highlight of not just the month, but the year was visiting The Electric Cinema in Birmingham: Since opening in 1909,The Electric has become the oldest working cinema in the UK. If anyone on here is planning to visit the UK,I highly recommend going to The Electric. Other highlights: 1: I Know Who You Are (2017) (Mini-series)My top first viewing of the year. 2: Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (2017) 3: Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool (2017)- Annette Bening gives an Oscar worthy performance as Gloria Grahame. Thanks.

Tremors (1990) Great fun. Deserves to be watched and talked about a lot more. It's funny and scary as all get out.

60 first viewings in December. More than in November, but also a few more disappointments than last month. Maybe its because it skewed more modern (even though I quite liked some of the modern ones) Anyway, top 20 (11 before 1980/9 after 1980) ranked....
Mr Smith Goes to Washington (1939) A Bill of Divorcement (1932) The Right Stuff (1983) Their Finest (2016/2017) Born Yesterday (1950) Scrooge (1951) Peter Ibbitson (1935) Waterloo Bridge (1940) Prince of the City (1981) 49th Parallel (1941) My Night at Mauds (1969) Moulin Rouge (1952) Wonder (2017) Doc Hollywood (1991) Little Lord Fontleroy (1936) Class Action (1991) What's Love Got To Do With It (1993) The Great White Hope (1970) Romy and Michele's High School Reunion (1997) What About Bob (1991)

I hope you are having a good weekend, and that with having had the flu for two weeks my viewings slowed down, but I've had turn to pick up some for the future. After seeing you highlight it here, and read your very good IMDb review,I picked up Echigo Tsutsuishi Oyashirazu. I hope that you enjoyed Dokufu Takahashi Oden-the escape set-piece reminded me of the nail-biting tension in the escape of Le Trou.

Hi there MDF sorry to here you have been struck down and of all things with an Aussie flu ! they are ghastly and really do your head in, middle of summer here and many variants are still cycling through the community ! I think you may have Death Row Woman Mixed up with the above pictured film which is by the same director a few years earlier ? a darker tale, a must see ... Happy Healthy Viewing
