The stuff you see available on Netflix streaming. What are some of the worst?

I saw it years ago but I can't recall the title. It has Lance Henriksen as a side character who's a gangster. But it's about this detective who realizes a demonic creature is killing hookers across an unidentifiable city. Awful awful low budget film.

Supposedly their pre-mockbuster movies werent that bad. Been wanting to see King of the Ants. I have heard their version of When a Stranger Calls is better than the actual bigger budget remake, but I haven't checked it for myself. On a movie forum that caters to old and bad movies, there are very few fans of the Asylum. The consensus is that most are too bad to be good. I looked at the trailer for Roger Corman's Sharktopus but it was like cheap video compared to Piranha.

Lance Henrikson's only been in about 400 low budget movies, so should be easy to narrow it down.

Any of the sequels to old 80s/90s slasher flicks to come out Post/1999. Jason X, Freddie vs. Jason, and so on.

To me it was a fun flick - you're not going to get 'The Shining' here - but we got to see two iconic horror slasher icons go at it. Similar in a sense that all the hate the Alien Vs. Predator movies get - fun flicks IMO.

I'm with you. Freddy vs Jason was a good time. Sure it's dumb and it's absurd, but that's more or less what I'd expect from a movie with that title. At the same time, it's got a fun tone with some great style and set-pieces, and some of the more memorably ridiculous kills in either series. I thought it got the balance of being pseudo-parody and genuine slasher mash up right for the most part, and it balanced the tone of both franchise well enough and was relatively respectful to the mythology of each... at least as much as a big budget, dumb slasher for mass audiences could be.
Alien vs Predator I found too dumb and too dull to remember much about. Maybe I'd feel differently if I saw it again.
Neither is nearly bad enough to be the worst of the last 17/18 years though. Not by a long shot...
... The A Nightmare on Elm Street remake on the other hand, certainly qualifies. That movies is 100% without redeeming qualities.

You've got to take it for what it was worth. You're not getting JAWs or Psycho here. It's a popcorn flick. Unlike a lot of these slasher flicks - I think it actually had enjoyable characters and the stoner guy was hilarious - 'That goalie seemed really pissed off!'. Who would have ever thought we would have gotten to see two iconic characters like Freddy Vs. Jason go at it - same goes for AvP. Gotta take these films for what they are - mindless fun. And I thought the ending was terrific and the plot was well done. IMO it's hands down better than a majority of the slop slashers flicks out there in the F13th and NOES franchise. Haters will hate.

Literally every horror movie ever made: "it wasn't scary." it disgusts me to be honest with you. haters hating on 'remakes' haters hating on 'cgi'.... my biggest pet peave - haters hating on 'jump scares' lighten up people. we all have our own tastes - likes and dislikes. these are opinions where nothing is set in stone. the old flame wars on the above on the old IMDB were hysterical (sad - but hysterical) i agree - there's nothing like a scorned butthurt horror fan who can't deal with the fact you think Kane Hodder sucks and the Evil Dead trilogy is overrated to ruin a day and go off on you like you committed murder

I think Freddy vs Jason was a better done match up than A v P.
But they should have done it 10 years earlier for maximum value.
Also being too cheap to use Hodder or Palmer was bad form.

I think horror is a genre that people are the biggest snobs about. Literally every horror movie ever made: "it wasn't scary." I'm a horror snob. Maybe it makes me an asshole, but I've put in the work and sought out the hard to find and most extreme horror films I could. It's hard being a horror movie fan. We almost never get nice things. And the truth is most of them aren't scary. EDIT: Not that they need to be scary, necessarily. I like fun horror movies, too. But you know what I mean. What are some of your favorites out there.... And what would regard as 'fun' as it pertains to your taste in movies..... I receive some flack for this being a horror fan myself - but I loved the Paranormal Activity and Saw Series. To me - they were 'fun' flicks - really enjoyed going to the theater every Halloween season for the next installment - became 'tradition' over the years.

Blimey, this will be a long list you end up with.
It follows for starters.

Blimey, this will be a long list you end up with. It follows for starters. It Follows was good. It kept the creature hidden, which is what makes it creepier. Once you start to see the monster in horror movies, it makes it less suspenseful. A solid horror flick and not one I would say first for bad horror movies at all. To each its own though.

Practically all of them, except for a few. There are very few original ideas or even smartly done rehashes of such ideas. I was eager to watch Cabin in the Woods, but it was a big let-down. Really sad are the Hollywood big budget remakes of classic low budget "grindhouse" genre films. The producers look at them as cash-ins, and just don't see the attraction in these original films being low budget and not really relying upon just "more gore" to create the terror. Even remakes of Hollywood large budget films tend to stink up the theater, or TV room as the case may be.
