I was going to bump the old thread I had put this title to, and I guess it must have been on the other imdb replacement board (thegotboard)...
Seriously, still, who is coming up with this garbage? I don't get it, even when the head writer changes, the banality of the content remains about the same; and so often it's like the people writing doesn't know how anything works in the real world. Like I posted in the other thread about testing "Stefan's" DNA; sure, plucking a hair might technically work, but that's not standard procedure. More practically they would have brought him to the hospital and had Kayla do the cheek swab herself, to ensure it's done right, under sterile conditions and less chance for contamination or tampering.
And now "Stefan" is going to try and claim the mansion? What BS is this going to be now? They made a huge point about how Stefano had basically defaulted on the mortgage, so Chad cashed in a bunch of stocks and used money Stefano had put in an account for him, and he bought it. How do the writers not know how home ownership works?
I'm amazed that they even bothered acknowledging how cold it's supposed to be with Brady standing outside half-naked; considering how under-dressed most people are walking around Horton square in the middle of winter, to say nothing of all the outdoor dinning still going on.

What is sad is that despite this thread not mentioning what show you're referring to, just by the first two names I know, & I have not watched DOOL in over a decade.

God damn this stupid show.... I keep asking myself why I'm still watching, and I honestly have no clue. I wanted to see Sami and how they brought Will back, which was not surprisingly disappointing; and now Sami's gone and I don't know why I'm still watching...
Chad borrowed against the house to help the company, so because Stefan bought the bank that gave Chad the loan, that gives him any kind of claim to live there with Vivian?? NO. Fuck no, that can't be how anything works. A mortgage isn't a transfer of ownership to the bank, it's collateral in the event the loan is default; and there's no way in hell someone like Chad got any sort of loan that could come due at the snap of a finger. He didn't go to a freaking loan shark. Not only that, they can't even keep the sequence of events straight; Sami took the money from the Dimera's before Chad and Abby bought the mansion; it was in fact part of the reason the mansion was behind on the mortgage payments under Stefano, and why it was about to be foreclosed on when Chad and Abby decided to buy it. And at the time Chad said he was using money Stefano had given him, saying there were funds in an account Stefano would make deposits to whenever he was trying to get back into Chad's good graces, which was presumably a tidy sum in itself; and that he was combining that with some stocks or something he was cashing in. There was no mortgage.
I've also never understood how the money Sami took could influence the Dimera company; the implications were that it was secret funds from shady dealings, which the Dimeras couldn't report was stolen; so there's no way that could have gotten tied in with any of the larger, legitimate holdings. Otherwise there'd be legitimate recourse against Sami - or questions about the legality of the source of the money. Yet she's freely walking around Salem, while some random nobody, with tenuous claims to the Dimera family and business knows about what happened like it's common knowledge...
