She was sensational in Gun Crazy and I guess she must have been among the last surviving femme fatales of the golden age of noir... is there anybody else still around?
I am also a big fan of Night of the Demon.

There's still Angela Lansbury (Please Murder Me) and Rhonda Fleming.
Rest in peace, Peggy. You were incredible to watch in Gun Crazy.

She tested for the lead in FOREVER AMBER, but the director felt that she was too inexperienced for the role, so it went to Linda Darnell. I had a book with a photo of Peggy in full costume as Amber; sadly, I don't have it any more. She was very pretty.

I am also a big fan of Night of the Demon. Does Janis Paige's role in Her Kind of Man (1946) count as a femme fatale? If not, then Peggy Dow's character in Woman in Hiding (1950) might be another femme fatale surivor. Oh, and there's also Arlene Dahl in No Questions Asked (1951), whose character...well, the picture below (printscreen from official trailer) pretty much says it all!
