Finn is a disgrace to black people. Bumbling comic relief fool who was regularly made inferior to his white female co-lead in TFA and failed during the climaxes of both films. Unfortunately, Disney made his offenses easy to overlook because he's likeable, brave, funny and has heart. At least Jar Jar's a straight forward jackass character... and Lucas was decent enough to cover up the actor's black skin with CGI.

I've heard lots of others disagree, especially after they watched him in TFA. I pointed out some of his problems, but they kept telling me that Finn would see improvements in the sequel. Did this happen? Eh... he bumbled less. He technically defeated Phasma (cheap shot). Separating Finn from Rey most of them film was an improvement. I guess he can fly now? Funny how he crashed into the ground but not the canon he was aiming for, lol... I should think less about Finn, for his sake.

I'd have to say yes--Abrams wanted more diversity but once Finn was introduced, they didn't really know what to do with him, plus Boyega is a poor choice, he has zero charisma- No small reason why TFA made $936 million domestic yet TLJ may make not even make $636 million

Let's go Chrome-Dome! I would trade him for Jar Jar's entire bombad family, and take Chewie's Wookie clan from the SW Holiday Special as bonus.
But if Rose does not have a boyfriend (a cute boyfriend) we may have an entire Finn-Rose family in the next one anyway. Unlike with their silly horse riding mission they then can at least claim with some justification: "But it was worth it. We made them hurt."

Finn was just a panicky coward.

Have you seen the Pacific Rim 2 trailer? At least it looks like John Boyega will actually be playing the hero, rather than the bumbling comic relief, in that film.

I'd trade Finn and Rey for Darth Jar Jar, yes.

Sure. Phantom Menace would have been a lot better with Finn, while TFA and TLJ aren't boring and stupid enough to be hurt by amphibian Al Jolson.

major moviebutthurt detected. Dude, Palp's rise to power had more story ideas and intelligent writing than TLJ and TFA combined, but you need intelligence to not be bored by it, that's the problem. Also, Gungans serve a narrative purpose of working together ("symbiotic cycle, what happens to one affects the other"). You can still kiss a Porg if you don't get it.

hell yeah I would, even would trade a week in the Republican Senate discussing the taxation of trade routes with having to watch those Disney films again. Im always lmao when reading those hyperbolic TFA and RLJ user reviews on forums describing how much they hate Jar Jar and how much he destroyed their childhood and beauty sleep, and still they prefer him to the new films. Hell hath no fury like a SW fanboy scorned.

I have to say yes. I can't stand Finn. I can't stand how he talks. I can't stand how his character is such a bad joke. His character is even less real than Jar Jar Binks. "Chrome Dome"? "Rebel Scum"? Amateur dialogues like these make a character sound like he knows he's in a goddamn movie and doesn't take anything seriously.

I didn’t laugh when the Turtles called Shredder Chrome Dome and I didn’t laugh when Finn said it thirty years later.

No, make it Jar Jar for Rose. Rose is the worst character in Star Wars cinematic history.
